I have an Epson Perfection V33 scanner that isn't too far from my PC, but the way I route my cables, I needed more length than the 6' cable provided. I order a lot of cables from Monoprice for my monitors and peripherals, but they don't sell a longer USB cable that is A-Male to B-Male with ferrite cores. They do sell long lengths without ferrite cores. The key is the cores. They reduce signal noise, and without them, I can't complete a full scan. I even tried purchasing ferrite cores that can be snapped onto any cable, but the fit was probably not tight enough to be effective (they usually make these for HDMI cables, not lower gauge USB).

$20 is kind of ridiculous for a cable like this, (and I only needed about 10' of cable) but since there are no better alternatives to be found, they have cornered the market (on Amazon, at least). Congrats, you found another sucker. I put the blame fully on myself for being so picky about my cable management.

I can't take away any stars because the cable is quality and works as it should. Highly recommended! I'd love to see this seller offer shorter lengths (10 or 15 feet) at a lower price. I'll just wind up the extra 10' I don't need and tuck it out of sight. My computer setup looks clean again!

-EDIT-
I was a bit hasty in reviewing this cable. After trying some scans a few days later, I had the same problem as before. I moved the cable into a different position, which tells me the signal is just too sensitive to be reliable. It's not the cable's fault. My solution: a Monoprice 16-Feet 5M USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Active Extension/Repeater Cable (108751) in combination with the original scanner cable. It wasn't so much a problem with signal interference as with signal degradation over longer lengths. Problem solved!

My computer and printer are in the same room but the wireless connection did not always work well. So I ran this cable beneath my floor by going behind the printer and down into the basement and up to my computer. I was concerned I would lose something because of the cable length, but there has been no problem. The local computer stores did not have a cable this long. Now I always have a good connection to my printer. Great product.

I recently got a couple of laser printers, They aren't close enough to my computer to use the USB cable that came with them, so I ordered these. It is plenty long and works like a charm. No problems whatsoever with this cable. My printer is having no problem working with this cable.

Sometimes the cable modem, phone jack, printer, and computer just can't be next to each other. And when your printer is an all-in-one with a fax, your options are limited. So rather than run a phone cord around the room (which is easy for people to trip over and then knock the phone off where it sits, etc., etc.), run the printer cable around the room. This cable was just perfect. I couldn't find the right length in any office supply store (you know the big two I'm referring to), and even the computer stores didn't have this length in stock. So I got this and it works great. I can run the printer USB cable around the side of the room (out of the way) and still keep my printer connected to the phone and computer. Not the most elegant solution, sure, but until I upgrade to a wireless printer, this will work just fine.

I used this to connect my electric drum kit to my computer to use with Toontrack Superior Drummer. Granted I have 16gb of RAM, I was running through Logic 9.1.8 at 64 samples and had no discernible lag or delay. Great quality cable!

Was a bit hesitant to use a 20 foot USB cable, but my office setup required to connect a scanner and other peripherals at the other side of my office. Other reviewers of long USB cables made me question if a long cable might cause trouble. However, this specific cable works perfectly without any problems whatsoever. I am mostly using the cable to send large files of high-quality scans from my scanner to my laptop. Highly recommended!

I recently moved into a larger office and needed to put my laser printer in a different location. For a couple of years I had been using a 2 M long USB connection. This 20 ft cable works perfectly. With some high speed communication protocols, distance is a big issue, but in this case with a printer connection, I have full bi-directional communication and have not encountered errors after about a month of everyday use.

We have a USB printer that is right at 20' from computer. I tried a 25' cable from Amazon. It worked for a month or so, then became unreliable. Decided to try the 20'. It barely reached, but so far after 6 weeks, it is working perfect.
