My wife loves these boots; they look great, are very comfortable, very warm and keep her feet dry all day.
I was a little nervous buying a new style on line but HiTec has always been true to size so I took a chance.
Light weight, fit true to size, comfortable, and warm.

My old Sorel snow boots were falling apart and I settled on this pair to ease the transition to a higher-end pair. I wanted proper insulation though because the winters where I live are brutal. For under $100 and free shipping, these boots are AMAZING.

    The Fit:

My foot slid in with complete and utter ease. There is an additional adjustable lace around the ankle to customise support as well. It feels true to size and I am a consistent US 7B and UK 5.

    The Look:

Black complements everything and the delicate mauve stitching adds a lovely subtle pop to it all. I was a little put off by the faux fur at first but it's a minimal trim, so it's not a ridiculously ostentatious style. As you can see from the picture, there is a slight heel. For me, this is the perfect lesson in moderation. Not plain and drab, rather elegantly simple: enough of a heel to define a pleasing silhouette and entirely appropriate for everyday walking.

    The Feel:

I've worn shoes with far more cushioned foot beds but don't take that to mean uncomfortable. Quite the contrary. The thick rubber sole provides ample support and when you're trekking across icy pavement and/ or through some inconsiderate miscreant's unshovelled/ unplowed sidewalk, this is imperative. The boots are well constructed and the suede appears to be holding up against the elements. The laces tie easily and do not slip/ come undone the way cheaper ones would.

When your feet are at rest, the 200g Thinsulate is barely noticeable. The mild warmth however, quickly progresses to a cozy toastiness as movement/ speed increases.

Verdict: an essential product at a great price. I checked other online retailers and even with tax, Amazon was still the cheapest. Ergo, if you're not on a work site, battling bears, or stalking penguins, the St. Moritz boots are a reliably warm, waterproof, and cost-effective solution to your winter needs.

We found that the size runs pretty average. They are fairly narrow, so if you need a wide width, this probably isn't a boot to go with. They are warm, but I am not sure of their durability. Right away the black fluff was falling off. Even more when laced. I ordered these for my daughter who was extremely excited upon arrival. They do look very nice. Unfortunately, I knew the look of disappointment on her face when I saw her wearing them after a few minutes. On sale at $45 might be an ok price, but I would certainly NEVER pay the full price. I had her take them outdoors and while warm, they really seemed no different than most other boots that we could pick up in the same price range locally. I won't be returning them since we tried them outside, but I certainly won't be purchasing any more either. I am glad that I did not buy a pair for myself. Hopefully these will last her through this season. I will have to update on their true durability later. I hope they prove my first impressions wrong.

Update Jan 5 : There has been no further damage since the fluff fell off the first couple of days. My daughter noted that they are not very good on slippery surfaces. She has fallen twice. She says they still keep her feet warm. She is content.

How can someone fall in love with boots and YET I HAVE!!! these boots are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. My city has of late gotten a tremendous amount of snow and with that said these boots have become my constant companion. They are so WARM which is a blessing because i normally wear 2 prs of socks and with these FABULOUS boots i am able to wear one pair of thin socks and my feet do not get cold or wet. they are very comfortable and feels like i am wearing sneakers as opposed to winter boots and they also have GREAT TRACTION when walking on ice....

I had the same old boots for the last 10 years. They were heavy and inflexible and not very attractive. I saw these at a local store and wanted them, but they were a bit more money than i was hoping to spend at the time. went back later for them but they were sold out. found them on Amazon so i got them. they are SO comfortable! they are light-weight for heavy-duty boots, very comfortable and cute to boot (pun may have been intended)! The only issue i have, and it's a small one, is that there almost seems to be 'arch supports' on both sides (on the inner side, where the arch is, and on the outer side of your foot). it makes me think sometimes that i put them on the wrong foot when they're not, aside from that, all-around great buy!

After weeks of reading reviews and checking out snug, ice-ready, water-proof boots, I bought a pair and sent them back. Then I stumbled upon these boots by Hi-Tec and I love them!! I wore these bad boys through the huge Blizzard of 2011 that cover 1/3 of the US, not to mention several other freezing snowy days.

They are very warm, water-proof and they're pretty cute too. When I first ordered them the picture made them look super bulky. They are kinda bulky but I'd rather have all of my toes intact over something fashionable. I enjoy wearing them, because I don't have to worry about my feet as I trudge to class on Purdue's campus. I'd highly recommend them, after trudging through snow and water and over ice in them. =)

Sidenote: I found that these were the most afordable boots I could find that looked nice and kept my feet safe.
