Ethan Cody is the deputy responsible for the Pelican Pointe area. When he sees a car parked almost in the road on a dark and stormy night, he's surprised to find a pretty female alone in the car. He takes her to Jordan and Nick's bed and breakfast, but his intuitive Native American side senses there's danger involved here. Although he and Hayden have a rough start, they are both soon attracted to each other.
I enjoyed much of PROMISE COVE, the first book in the series, but this book was entirely different. Despite some profanity and the sex scenes that came toward the end, PROMISE COVE was a sweet, gentle story of falling in love. Nick seemed to respect Jordan and loved her so much he put her well-being above his own. I didn't see this with either Hayden or Ethan. While still barely acquaintances, they "lip locked" in lustful, rough kisses and jumped into bed together early in the book. Ethan's "assaulting her lips" and thrusting "his tongue down her throat" didn't sound very romantic to me. Even their flirting dialogue was explicit and raunchy. This made Hayden seem like a slut and Ethan on a similar level. Despite the crime plot, there wasn't even as much tension in HIDDEN MOON BAY. Maybe it was because I really didn't care what happened to Hayden. There was also much more profanity here. I counted 104 times. It seemed cruder, too.Read more ›
I remained glued to the pages for the rest of the story as Emile flees for her life from Chicago to a remote coastal town in central California, changing her identity to Hayden Ryan on the way.
As the main witness to a multi million dollar fraud, the perpetrators want her dead. She tries to lose herself as a nobody in the small community but she meets a good looking cop who suspects she has a "past". This causes stress in their amorous relationship.
For an entertaining adventure and love story, I highly recommend Hidden Moon Bay.

I have read all of the books in the series so far...Loved them all...Next to Western romance, I love small town stories, especially near the water stories...Published 1 day ago by Amazon Customer Joan O'Neill
Good book for some light reading while waiting for other series to catch up. The flow was pretty steady up until the end where it felt a bit rushed.Published 9 days ago by Kelahan
