This is a tricky way to play that will often surprise you once you finally find the correct object.
"Dreaming with Fairies" takes hidden object games to new heights with its stunning artwork by artist Phatpuppy. It's a superb hidden object game that I would recommend for all ages from around kindergarten to adult. Younger kids will love playing in the simplest mode - Nice and Casual - which is untimed, and they can match the hidden objects by their pictures; also there are no penalties for guessing wrong (or stabbing around blindly), and there are unlimited hints (however, after using a hint, there's a waiting period before you can get another one). And unlike some hidden object games that tell a story, there's no text to trip up younger kids.
If you want to make the game much more challenging, play the Normal mode or - if you feel really competitive - the Challenge mode, where a timer bar is running, the number of hints is very limited, and you're penalized for blindly stabbing away at the screen (5-second penalty for each wrong touch). You can also match objects by words or silhouettes, which are considerably more difficult than matching pictures. When you complete a screen in the Normal or Challenge mode, there's a bonus round where you identify as many bonus items as you can in a limited time. The bonus round is where you can earn some serious points. If you're proud of your score, you can submit it to Amazon's GameCircle and see how well you did compared to other players..
Finding the lists of hidden objects can be challenging. Some of the hidden objects are relatively easy to spot, but there are always some that are either small, or they're partially hidden, or they're located very close to the edges of the screen. Also, some objects are camouflaged into the background, and these can be very tough to spot. In the first level, there were some very dark areas that were difficult to pick objects from, but that was the only level where I had that problem.
I tried all three modes, but I preferred the Nice and Casual mode, with no time limit or penalties. In this mode, I completed all eleven screens for the maximum score in this mode of 4,950. One note if you play either of the timed modes: If the time expires, you have to return to the first screen and start over. If you need to take a break, press the Pause button first, and the timer will stop until you resume the game. With eleven screens (nine hidden objects on each screen), it can be a fairly short game for sharp-eyed players, but with so many combinations of playing modes and object identification modes, the game has tons of replay value. Also, every time you replay a screen, the object list changes, so no two games are ever alike.
A word about the background graphics: The artwork in Dreaming with Fairies is as good or better than any game of this type that I've played. I looked at artist Phatpuppy's website, and his photography and art are phenomenal.
For the quality of the color graphics, the different play modes that make the game appealing to just about all ages, and the high replay value, Dreaming with Fairies is a solid 5 stars in my opinion.
I played Dreaming with Fairies on a Kindle Fire HD 7".
As far as hidden objects games go, I do like this game. The pictures are pretty, and there are options to make the game more challenging if you want to do that. I wish that there was an option to return to the point you left off. It has that option, but once I shut down my kindle, when I later reopen this game, it always takes me to the beginning. I like the hidden object games that give you the snapshots of all of the pictures, and highlights the ones that you have completed. That way, you can always choose which picture you want to start the game at. I think I like the Hidden Garden game series better.
Dreaming is certainly my goal and this game is such a gem of beauty--including the graphics and music--that I look forward to snuggling in bed with my kindle fire and spending the long insomniac hours with the fairies. During the day I play the Hidden Object Games (HOGs) that have intricate story lines and puzzles and race back and forth to find this or that. But the night is reserved for a unique experience of becoming one with the different scenes of each level depicted in Dreaming With Fairies. It's a virtual visit to a lovely world!
I love the images in this game. They are definitely gorgeous. Add to those images a hidden object game with different levels of difficulty, now that's a lot of fun. I'm enjoying this purchase so much, and I would definitely recommend it for people who like this type of game.
just a tiny problem. A couple of items were hidden under the list of hidden objects other than that it was great and a bit different than some of your other HO games.I always enjoy your games just wish you would make them longer.
I am not new to hidden object puzzles, so when I say this one is just great, you can believe me. The artwork is really something, and each fairy in this puzzle is very different. I bought it this morning and played it 3 times, with the picture, the silhouette, and casual. Each time was fun! I recommend it, for sure!
