He now finds himself with a crew that he is not sure trusts him, as really, he doesn’t believe in himself, trying to get a working ship, to rescue an Ambassador he is not even sure has been abducted from enemy territory, before it starts an all-out war.
As well as Odin stumbling around trying to get himself lost again in the galaxy, but having lots of witty comments along the way, poor Ada Xander is still on the loose. She is stuck on Ceres after the disaster in the first book, but now finds she is in real trouble when somebody starts destroying habs and leaving her in a tight spot, because she wasn’t in a bad enough way already. Ada is a highly amusing character and one of the best parts of this story. The main story revolves around Odin and his crew, but the subplot of Ada is just brilliant.
This is a great series, a bit short for the length, but well worth the read anyway.
The characters are a lot of fun, with some highly amusing dialogue, and the storyline is intriguing as it unfolds with multiple different aspects. It will be very interesting to see how it all comes together.
This is definitely worth it, light hearted fun when you have had a bad day, just sit back and escape (as you should with good Sci-fi) into an easy read with witty banter, good characters and interesting storyline.
Continuing the adventures of, now, Captain Lucas Odin and crew of the starship Fairfax as she heads into the heart of the old Earth Empire, enemies of the Kuiper Colonies. But this is the least of their troubles as they move into explosive areas which none of them could have imagined.
Fast paced, great characters, old and some new, and some reinvented, twisting plots and double-cross, with plenty of humour, too. Definitely a book for any science fiction fan to read and savour.
