My second time buying this. I like it!

This is the second one I have purchased. I am building a new house and the Spousal Unit loved her old one so much I had to get her another one for the new house. Note that this one pivots. That seems like a little thing but is is very useful in the laundry room to be able to move it around. It is used for both ironing and for folding clothes. I bought the plain one that has no lighting or electrical outlet because the room has good light and an outlet right below the board. We do appreciate the metal clad area for sitting the iron when we are done with it. Easy to install if you are mildly handy with tools. You cut a big hole in the sheet rock, add a bottom support board (an air-nailer helps immensely), then fasten the board on one side to a stud (me, in this case) while sitting on the bottom board. It is not a flush mount. It will protrude out about 3 inches. I found that putting some quarter round molding around the exterior made it look nice. Stain to match to really make it look great.

I put it on my bedroom wall beause my laundry area is in the garage and carrying the ironing board back and forth is really a pain. I live in Florida and the garage is like a sauna. It works well. If you are able to put it in the wall it would look better, but it is really very handy. The only criticism I have is that it barely fits a normal size iron. I did get the autoimatic light and plug which takes up some space on the shelf, but the shelf is rather narrow.

Item came damaged where the ironing board attaches to the unit. We did not notice it until the unit was installed in the wall. We are going to try and fix it, but clearly not happy with this poor workmanship and quality control on behalf of the manufacturer.

I raised and lowered the ironing board about 4 times (for installation, not even any actual use) before the rollers that allow the board to be lowered and raised just sort of fell apart making this an expensive, useless box mounted in the wall of my brand new home. I will contact the seller to see if they have a solution and revise my review if I find a solution.

arrived on time, well packaged. Mounted into the wall easily, though i added a couple 2x4s since my wall was on 24" centers. Just ran some caulk around the edge to cover the drywall cut.

It is NOT a heavy duty ironing board set-up for large/constant ironing. But for the occasional shirt touch up it is perfect and it is nice that is not in the way when not need.

The shelf for the iron just barely accommodates our iron. There are probably some irons out there that wouldn't fit without adjusting the shelf.
