This amp work ok if you want to boost signals through long coax runs. It really doesn't work for increasing gain for distant stations. If the signal is at the antenna and is weaker but stable because of the distance of the station you will loose the signal when your coax is 25 feet or more. This amp will maintain the signal for coax run up to 200 feet. If the signal is too week at the antenna you will not gain that station by using this amp. The package states 36 dbi in gain this is a little misleading remember if the antenna doesn't see the signal you will not get the signal.

This Trisonic model TS-1132UV-D 36 db High Performance VHF / UHF / FM / HDTV Signal Amplifier - worked very well for me. I live in a very rural area with no local TV stations or broadcast towers in the immediate area. For the previous five years I had satellite service from DirecTV. A few months ago, I was reviewing my retirement income and looking for areas where I could cut back on my expenses. I decided to buy an outdoor HDTV antenna and see what I could pickup for TV stations. I bought one of those new high powered directional antennas with a rotor included and installed the antenna to see how well it would work for me.

Overall, I was pleased to pickup two PBS stations, which I couldn't get with Satellite TV, and I was picking up TV broadcast stations from five local areas up to 105 miles away. I was getting 10 channels and I was happy with what I was receiving. Previously I had been paying $90.00 a month for Satellite TV service from DirecTV, but I didn't get any local channels or PBS stations. Here in Oklahoma, we generally get our share of tornadoes every year and with no PBS channels on DirecTV, I was not able to get the live status or advanced warnings on storms in my area. I liked the little directional long range antenna with a rotor, it was a LAVA model WA-2608 and it performed well. However, I was wishing I could get an Omni-Directional antenna that could reach out as far, so that I wouldn't have to monkey with the rotor whenever I wanted to change channels and get a station from another direction.

Then one day I found an Omni-Directionl antenna with long range capability.

I live two blocks away from a major commercial radio station and its lofty FM transmitter tower. The radio signal lies in the band of TV signals. The strong local signal ramps down the automatic gain control of my HDTV and is always present. That means no weak signals get in to the TV screen because the circuits are fooled into thinking the signal is very strong.

The FM trap is fantastic. When the amplifier first arrived I was disappointed. The weak signals were still absent.
When I tried to put the unit back in the box to return, I re-discovered the switch for the FM trap. I decided to re-connect and test. It was magic. Trap out- no signal. Trap in I got pictures.

This is magic! Highly recommended. Not for cable, but you cable cutters will be pleased!

After receiving the antenna signal booster amplifier and installing it in the circuit, there wasn't any output at all, only the pilot light worked so I mailed it back and emailed for a working unit .
The second unit fed the signal through it but did not amplify the signal, it acted only like a switch so I mailed it back as well and requested a refund.

I really don't know how the positive reviewers had any success with this device.

I actually get pretty good antenna reception, but TiVo is pretty fussy and can't work with my weakest channel. (The antenna is fine with my TV's not connected to TiVo.) I inserted the device in two different places between the antenna and the input to TiVo. It actually reduced the signal strength instead of amplifying it. I used the TiVo signal strength meter to measure each channel before and after installing the device. All channels were weaker. This was true no matter where I set the amplification dial with the FM switch set to either "in" or "out".

I know that antenna electronics can be complex, but I gave the device a fair trial as best I could and it did not work for me.

The product was exactly as advertised. It really did the job on boosting our signal, we no longer get any picture breakups.

I bought this amplifier to assist with a long cable run, with a DB8 antenna. If I turn it off, I get zip. Turn it on, I get all channels clear and crisp. This is a fine piece of equipment that does what it's supposed to do. And you can't beat the price. If you're not getting signal, check your antenna, not the booster.

I purchased two of these because living in the country I couldn't pick up many tv channels and the ones I did were not clear...now they are...I would purchase these again when need arises.
