About the author

RW Tucker lives a life of hedonism and excess in Southeastern Pennsylvania. His series, HIGH WATER, the the first-ever kung fu/zombie/stoner trilogy of its kind, because nobody else was high enough to write something like that.

First and foremost, kung fu is personified not only by the bone crunching detail used to describe how the main characters defend themselves from the various situations in the plot, but the ideals of the martial art are also present and well accounted for. Tucker is smart enough to include the mental capacity that the movement arts lend its practitioners and the way the study of self defense molds not only the body, but the mind.
Additionally, there's a good deal of science in the thick of this story as well. Be patient, it's surely there. This lends credibility to a genre that's been circling a revolving door of inexplicable explanation. Adding this element, not as an aside, but as a point in the plot, again shows competence here.
And finally, there's a good deal of insight into the inner workers of a marijuana user here. The main characters are all very believable in their use, and each of them are unique in the way the biology of the plant effects them. To not only add something like this into a story, but integrate in a way that provides instead of detracts speaks volumes.
Now, with all this said, this book isn't without flaws. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, a good deal of these are present due to a lack of professional editing. This is the indie author's kryptonite, and it is present here. That being said, this isn't a hack job, by any stretch of the imagination. The writing is far beyond competent, the plot is both fluid and intriguing, and the story leaves you ready for the next installment.
If you like the zombie genre of literature, this story will give you a good bit to chew on. As it seems to be the first part of a series, it's a worthy introduction. I look forward to reading more from this author.
