Later, Maddy settled down with some ice cream and a movie when she heard 3 knocks at the door. She got up, but no one was there. She went out onto the porch and saw no one. Smitten with Maddy while he was playing poker in the next room at Azalea’s tea house, the ghostly Cullen followed her home.
Cullen’s angelic shrink, assigned to make this 300-year-old “bad boy” ready for heaven, made a deal with him. She wanted him to comfort and help Maddy get over her heartbreak. If he won the bet, he would have six months without counseling; if she won, he would be sent onward to Heaven.
Maddy and Cullen, once she accepted that she was indeed haunted by a ghost, devised a way to communicate with a spoon and paper and pencil. They spent a relaxing time learning each other’s life history. Then Cullen helped her decorate the Christmas tree since he was able to move physical objects. They even baked shortbread together, with Cullen wearing her pink apron so she would know where he was! The healing had begun for both of them. But where would this lead?
This was a cute story, filled with warmth and caring. I enjoyed it and recommend it for a fun Christmas story.
To help her friend recover from a broken heart, Ellie gives Maddy an early Christmas gift, a psychic reading at a spooky tea house. Not only did the gift Maddy receive end up being the psychic reading, but also the acquisition of a three century old Scottish ghost named Cullen.
This is a charming story about how Cullen tries to give Maddy a new perspective on life and how he makes Maddy happy again. I read this in two sittings. The book did sweep me away reading about a romance that develops between the two main characters. Exquisitely written, this is a lighthearted read with a happy ending for all those involved.

The whole time I was rooting for Cullen, but she had her HEA with Hank. As you can see, I got emotionally invested in these characters.
This was a extremely well written short story. I haven't read anything by Ms. Carson before, but I will definitely in the future.
