Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I'm thrilled to introduce you to all the full of life characters in my Stolen Bride series! I write alpha heroes and feisty heroines. Lots of adventure and sizzling chemistry. While each book in the Stolen Bride series does flow in consecutive order, they also stand alone.

The Highlanders Conquest was only fair.I have read at least 150 Highlander kindle books. Some are fantastic and i cant put them down and others i can hardly wait until i finish, as i can never stop in the middle of a book. This one was not exciting or didn't thrill me with sexual content. I'm sorry that i cant recommend this book just to have a good review, but i have to be honest. There are so many that i could ask you to read but your on your own with this one.
Eliza Knight can do much better. i am an expert on reviewing a Highlander Warrior, there is sex written all over him. Honest!
All my Books come from Amazon!

I read this 2nd book in the series right after finishing Highlander's Reward. And, while I enjoyed Aliah's and Blane's love story it was pretty similar to Arbella's and Magnus' story.

There was humor, adventure, sensuality and, yes, love in this historical romance. The main characters both suffered from misplaced guilt and were both likeable. Editing errors were minimal.

Another good addition to the series. There were a couple of plot line inconsistencies - not enough to bother me too much. My only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that the women seem to be rather advanced in their sexuality despite being rather sheltered virgins. It makes for some hot scenes, but is unbelievable. Despite this, I do enjoy the characters and the setting.

The Highlander's Conquest
By: Eliza Knight

Ever since I read the words "The End" on The Highlander's Reward, I've been waiting for the second book in Eliza Knight's Stolen Bride series. That is precisely why I bought it the day it was released. I was not disappointed.

Blane Sutherland, younger brother to the Laird of Sutherland, is sent to fetch the Laird's new wife's sister from England. Since Blane has been passing himself off as an Englishman for years while he sold the Sutherland wool to England, he is the obvious choice to bring the girl to her sister.

Aliah de Mowbray is no shrinking violet. Even though she's been protected all her life, and plans to vow her life to the church, when the chips are down, she can handle a bow and arrow, much to Blane's surprise.

As they continue their dangerous journey from England to Scotland, Blane fears the biggest danger to him is losing his heart, and Aliah begins to second guess her decision to enter the church.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Higlander's Conquest. Blane and Aliah are a delightful couple, and their pull toward each other kept me turning the pages. Ms. Knight has done it again with vivid details, strong characters, and an engaging story. I strongly recommend The Highlander's Conquest, and if you haven't yet read the first book, The Highlander's Reward, do yourself a favor, and get that one, too.

I was looking forward to this book but found it disappointing. I can't put my finger on exactly what it lacked but I think that I found the uncertainty of their commitment to each other detracted from the romance. The H seemed to waver for various reasons and only when confronted made his decision. It wasn't only that though and I suppose the story was also a little boring for me.

I will however try the 3rd in the series when it comes out in December, perhaps it will be as good as the first one. I like the sound of Daniel Murray.

I was new to Ms. Knight as an author but after reading the first book in her stolen bride series I have been captivated and am now an enthusiastic fan. The second book in the series is also a page turner with likeable characters who discover their love for one another as the story unfolds. This is a HEA story and that's primarily what I read and want in a book I choose to buy. That's why I like Ms.Knight. She also throws in a little knowledge about Scottish history (just enough). This is escapism at it's best and not one of those stories that drags on about the angst and trauma of it's protagonists. If you want that just turn on the TV. If you want a sexy, romantic love story that makes you feel read this book! Well, I must go as I'm going to read the next book in the series. I gave this book 5 stars as it is well written with a great plot and well thought out and developed characters.

We are introduced to Blane Sutherland in bk1 The Highlanders Reward. Blane has been sent to fetch Arbella's younger sister Aliah. Arbella knows her sister is alone at home and in danger at Mowbray Manor becasue of the impending war between Scotland under the head of William Wallace and England under the head of King Edward. Blane pretends to be English, Sir Blane Sutherland to persuade Aliah to travel with him to Scotland to reunite with her sister Arbella. Aliah believes her sister has married an Englishman Sir Marmaduke Stewart who resides in Scotland. Arebella has really married Laird Magus Sutherland. Blanes older brother.

Blane and Aliah both have something in common. They believe they are responsible for their parents death. Aliah believes she is responsible for her mothers death in birthing her and has vowed to make penance for it by severing the church as a Nun. Blane is determined to find the English gang that killed both his parents and severely wounded him. He believes the attack was his fault. On their way to Scotland the two fall in love and do some heavy petting, but stop before it goes to far. Blane feels he has nothing to really offer Aliah an is dedicated to finding his parents murderers. and Aliah has vowed to give her life to the Church. For me this back an forth Angst between kissing and heavy petting and pulling away from each other was to much. There Reasoning why they can't be together went on to long. I was ready to say enough already!! Get together! The story is still pretty good and held my interest. Now I am moving on to read bk 3 The Highlanders Lady.
