I purchased the Georgia/South Carolina and North Carolina books together. So far I'm pretty pleased with them but I have found errors with the GPS coordinates in both books so before you use her coordinates double check them on Google Maps or your favorite mapping program. For example in the North Carolina book the listing for Wintergreen Falls lists coordinates that are actually located in South Carolina not North Carolina. I belive the correct coordinates should be N35 11.862 versus 35 1.862 as published in the book. In the Georgia/South Carolina book the coordinates for Dukes Creek Falls lists the same coordinates for the trail head and waterfall but the descriptions says the hike is 2.2 miles round trip so one of the sets of coordinates are wrong. I've contacted the publisher and author regarding these two errors and I'm waiting to hear back from either of them. For the curious the books contain the following number of waterfalls per state: Georgia - 35, South Carolina - 18, North Carolina - 113. The actual number of falls is probably higher than the counts I've listed because several pages include more than one fall. I've compared the author's reviews of several of the falls I've visited such as Station Cove, Twin, Issaqueena, Pigpen and Licklog and found her descriptions to be accurate and match my own evaluation of each. I have no doubt these guides will see lots of use over the next several months as my wife and I visit and photograph the waterfalls included in the guide.

We live in Georgia, but plan to retire in Western North Carolina. We visit several times a year, and always "do" a waterfall hike, or a view hike. I think the directions are great, and I agree with her on the beauty ratings. I always take it with us so we can easily find the trailhead. Also includes great photos, and it's very well organized. Buy it, you won't be sorry!

This is a great addition to our guidebook library. We found some hikes that were not in our other books. The maps are well designed, pictures are helpful, and the narratives help guide you along the way. We can't wait to check off as many waterfalls as possible.

This is a great book. Recently updated. I purchased this and use it almost like a bible as an amateur hiker and photographer with a passion for waterfalls and water features. The format reminds me a lot of another very good hiking book I used a lot for the Ozark trail in Missouri. Very detailed trail descriptions. Melissa is pretty meticulous which is a blessing when trying to follow trails that are not always clearly marked. Her other Falcon guides are also pretty solid. I would recommend. Well worth the price.

Not only does it contain most waterfalls (no easy feat in itself) but it includes helpful tips as to hinking distance/difficulty, accessibility and such which if you are not familiar with the area are very valuable. I found the accesssiblity ratings very useful and accurate.

Good book. One of the most comprehensive listings of the waterfalls of the state of North Carolina. Detailed directions to trailheads and good descriptions of the waterfalls. Photos in the book are in color though not all waterfalls listed are photographed. The maps could be a bit more detailed.

I couldn't find a question section for this book so o figured I'd review instead. I bought the E-Book, or so I thought. I paid around 10 bucks for this book thinking I owned it but there is a timer in the corner of my reading app. Was this book a rental and I looked over this?
