Forget your grocery list; children won't write or tell you what they need before grocery day (only after you get home from the store); you make a spontaneous decision to stop at the store after work or while doing errands, because hey, you're right there anyway; a family member who gets your kids to school for you, forgets to let you know what they need for school lunches.... You get the idea.

I had forgotten my grocery list - again! When I got home, in my frustration, I started searching for some type of app-fed smartboard to put on my frig that would upload into my phone. During my search, I found this! Ooh, did I get excited!

I immediately downloaded the app, it was free and I started my list right away. Same capabilities were available with just the phone which worked until I got the device to put in my kitchen (for the hubby who is the ONLY family member that doesn't have a smartphone). Then I put this app on both my daughters' phones, logged into my account, and got another hiku device for my MIL - now NOBODY has an excuse to NOT add needed items onto my grocery list - AND I can go to the store at the last minute and not worry about forgetting or losing my list! I am psyched!

I now have 10 shopping lists (one for each store I go to for specific items) - all in one place! And I've set it up for my specific items, when called out, to go directly to the correct store - no more re-writing my centralized master list for the appropriate stores! Cannot love this app more!

I even got my mom hooked - she's working with the app right NOW! LOL

I highly recommend this product - the app at the very least - it really does simplify shopping day. The only way to make this better is for it to come in colors! LOL

I love it.
I can't say anything about how long you can play with hiku before the batteries is empty, cause I didn't have it very long. (Little more than an half month, 95% left, and I only charged it once)
What I can say is I didn't wanna miss it. Try at first the app, cause if you didn't like the system the hiku is nothing for you.
What I really like is that I can tell hiku, which product I want in which list. So I made a list for every shop I buy things. So hiku now know that I buy my milk only from one store, example Wal-Mart and put it on this list.
When hiku didn't recognize the barcode, it makes a special sound, you hold the button and tell him what it is. Next time he knows it.
The app is in English but the language that you will speak to hiku you can choose.
The online part for Wal-Mart I can't try, cause I'm from Europe, and the delivery cost would kill me. 😉
Thanks to the magnet part in the hiku, I stays on my refrigerator and scan products before the fly in the garbage.

I LOVE my Hiku!!! This is by far one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. I keep it stuck to my fridge and anytime I start to run short on something I just give it a quick scan and it's added to my list. This device has changed my life and made my shopping much easier.

PROS:
Magnetic so it sticks to your fridge
Charge lasts for awhile. I fully charged it initially and haven't charged it since (about 3 weeks).
The app organizes your list by department (produce, meat, dairy, etc.) which makes shopping a breeze.
Once you check something off your list, it stays on the bottom (grayed out) so you can add things you buy frequently without scanning it again.
You also can manually input items if you don't have anything to scan.

CONS:
Some items you scan come up with some really weird product names. Luckily, you can change the name on your phone and next time you scan it, it will put the name you created. (You can also submit corrections to Hiku via the app)

Not really a CON, but when I first got this, I was going through my house scanning everything. It's kind of addictive.

Overall, this is by far one of my favorite gadgets. I've even bought a couple as gifts for family and friends. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I love it. Yes you could download any app for your phone but its so easy to pluck it off the fridge and quick say what you need after just opening the fridge and love it syncs off my wife and I's phone. Remember to sign on to your account on her/his phone if you want to have same list. Also not sure if you have multiple shopping list how you speak into the device and have it go to a particular list. I think directions could of been a bit clearer on that.

You don't need Alexa if all you need is simple shopping lists between you and your wife. The device is very easy to use and works well. No more drawing pads on my fridge, or pens that won't draw upside down. Just this little thing.

The haiku is a very unique device. I really like the fact that when I'm running low on a product in my home all I have to do is scan the barcode and it will add it to my shopping list. The only thing is that it will only add stuff to your main shopping list so if you plan on scanning items from different stores such as Sam's Club, the grocery store or A specialty food store it will not distinguish between the lists. You can go into the app and move the food into the list that you want but it takes a little more time. The battery on the haiku last several days so you don't always have to charge it. I found that about 80% of the products I scan are recognized in the app. However I did notice that sometimes it will not tell you the name brand. It will only tell you what the product is such as a duster vice a swiffer duster. My haiku does have a little bit of a hard time recognizing what I speak to it but it does keep the recording of your voice so you can go back and listen to figure out what it was you were trying to say. All in all it is a good product and I'm happy that I have one in my kitchen.

She uses it for everything (reminders to get the mail, take out the trash, and water the plants) along with groceries. Great little product, easy to connect to the phone and easy to use.
