Whether you like these or not depends on how you use them. These are SALT and there is no mistaking that you are drinking from salt. If you use these as real shot glasses (poor, knock back, suck a lime) they save you the salt on your hand step. If you are thinking about sipping high quality tequila from them, forget it. Any liquid left in these will be brine in minutes. My wife loves salty things, so I thought these would be good to have around but soon found out they are good for one thing - quick shots. The only other problem is if you get a cracked one, it will leak. I got a cracked on in my set. Since they are packaged really well I suspect it was cracked in manufacturing (it didn't necessarily look cracked).

** Update ** I was not satisfied that I spent money on these (they seem so cool) but was not getting any use out of them so I started looking around for possibilities... I came across some ideas in "salt" and "salt block" related books and websites (you know the whole salt block craze going on)... so there is hope. One I saw was dipping these in melted chocolate to coat the inside and about half of the outside (vertically) to create a dessert cup for things that go well with chocolate (and a little salt always goes well with chocolate and caramel). Keep the chocolate coating very thin (might make more sense to brush it on) so that the salt will come through as the chocolate wears off while eating/drinking. I'm sure there are lots of other good ideas - just not the one I really wanted it to be :-) But... tequila goes with chocolate, right?

These shot glasses are theoretically great. Let me start by saying that one of the four leaked badly. When I contacted Amazon, they immediately sent us another set with expedited shipping. This was really great, and the first thing I did was test the new set; one leaky glass here as well. Regardless, we were after a set of four and this solved the problem (kudos to Amazon for their excellent customer service!).

The reason for the low rating is for the same reason stated by many others. These cannot be used for sipping tequila, which is a shame as this was our intention. Do not use your "good stuff" in these unless you plan on shooting it. I bought these on a whim within minutes of our friends showing us their set (which had little plastic cups that fit in the glass itself). In hindsight, this makes much more sense. We will try to find something to do about that.

Also, we are not completely certain how to store these. Have had the original set for a few weeks now, and find that after washing a few times (wash, dry with paper towel, leave upside down on a rack to ensure they fully dry before storage), they are getting "fuzzy" so-to-speak.

Nonetheless, we shall continue to enjoy the gimmick. The only time we've used them is with company, which has definitely impressed some of our friends.

Nice product; look for the ones with cups in them if you are considering the purchase.

Does the job but only expect half to be nice. I bought two sets of these and mine had one with a hole in it. My brothers shot glasses all have different sizes. But if you're feeling lucky, I'd say give it a go. I had a good time with these and it did the job (except for the one with the hole of course).

I really wanted to like these, they were a gift for my birthday. However the only cup taken out of the shrinkwrap began to leak after five shots. (Not all taken in a row of course) Wondering if perhaps I had just mispoured or something I very very carefully observed the pouring the next day and sure enough alcohol was running down my hand. I quickly drank it and examined the cup. It literally is unable to hold liquid. I used these as one should, as a shooter so it is not as if alcohol spent extensive time inside.

Extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend these to anyone, because 5 uses is not enough for what is basically a unique shot glass. It was never dropped or mishandled and as I said shots were taken immediately after being poured each time so no matter how careful one is they will not last.

These are uneven sizes. They are the real deal but not equal in rim thickness or texture. Like they came from 2 different cuts. I don't think it's something seller can describe since they come prepackaged.

The good news: These are fun, and do flavor the tequila nicely. They are the only shot glasses I use. I got them as a gift, but when they're used up I will definitely replace them myself. The bad news: leaks. I've worked my way through 3 of the 4 glasses, and they leak sooner or later (none of the glasses leaked right away, it only developed over time). It's just natural structural seams or weaknesses or something in the rock salt, not a manufacturing defect exactly. If you spill, it's probably the shot glass's fault and not yours. I have successfully patched cracks by sealing them by pressing a paste made of flour and water into the crack and letting it dry. This doesn't affect the flavor and works well (so far, anyway). So all's well that ends well. Net net: strong recommendation.
