Unlike it's cousin Ocean Express this game is very enjoyable. I have played it for a number of years and never get tired of playing it. I find it relaxing yet stimulating. I enjoy playing it without any time limits or challenges. There is another mode that you can play it in that has more limitations. The mode I chose has no time limit but the longer it takes to fill the train the lower your score will be. There is no goal for scoring so I basically see if I can beat the previous levels that I have played. Upon filling the cargo hold a photo appears. It can be a photo of dogs, food, sports events and various other things that are quite pleasant to look at. You must fill up the entire grid with differently shaped cargo pieces in order to win the level. You can fill anywhere from one train to three trains at once. When the game first comes up you get a choice of 2 cities that you want your train to arrive at. You choose one and the next screen gives you a small synopsis of the city you chose that includes some history, what it is noted for, and other interesting facts relating to that particular location. There are several levels assigned to each city. Upon completing the levels another screen comes up with two different cities and again you choose which one you want to the train to arrive at. All the cities are located in the US.
Given the fact that there is no time limit your frustration level is non active. In addition to the primary cargo shaped pieces you need to fill up your train you are also given small square spare tiles. These tiles can be used to fill a small square space erroneously left uncovered. All spaces must be covered for the train to pull out of the station and allow another empty train in. You can also use the spare tiles to create a differently shaped space then the original one. This newly created space should be able to accommodate available tiles on the conveyor belt rather then waiting for an unavailable tile which would fit the original space. Waiting for tiles that fit takes time which lowers your score. There are moments that you have no choice and have to wait to get the correct tile or cargo piece to fill a space. You win the level when all the trains are filled with cargo. If a train has an empty space it will not leave the station. If you have extra spare tiles you can fill the empty space. If you don't the game is over. So when placing the cargo make sure that before putting it on the train it fits exactly in the space you intend to put it without leaving any empty single spaces. Any cargo that you discard is thrown down the unwanted cargo chute. You must also be aware that whenever you get rid of cargo by throwing it into the chute one of your spare tiles is taken away. Throwing cargo away that you do not need at that moment frees up space on the conveyor belt upon which the cargo is presented so that other shaped cargo pieces are free to come down the conveyor for you to put into play. It's a good idea to try and use up your spare tiles before getting rid of cargo. This may sound somewhat confusing but it really isn't once you begin to play. The directions are very easy to follow. It's a fun game that can be played over and over again by both kids and adults.
I don't "hate" the game, just never was able to download it. Tried repeatedly and did not work. Went to hipsoft site and downloaded the trial game with no problem, but did not want to buy it on that website, thinking I would somehow finally get the one I bought on Amazon to download. I guess I am giving up.
This game is very entertaining. The levels get harder, you have an option to post your high scores online against others. I play it almost daily, it is a good stress reliever and you have to use a bit of strategy once you get to the higher levels. I would abolutely recommend this game! PS. My kids like playing it also, there is timed mode and casual... very fun.
I like this game. At the beginning, I used to get mad when I fail in a level and it shows this sentence that I don't like "game over" until I discovered a secret :) If I save every level I passed, once I fail in the following level I click on Menu -->Exit to Windows before the "game over" sentence appears on screen. This method allows me to replay the level again by clicking on "Resume game" :)
I love this game I used to play it on big fish, and I tried to order it with you guys and my system said it might harm my computer so I could not download it (n I really want this game because it lots of fun.
The game is everything I hoped it would be. I use it to "unwind" and it clears my head from the activities of the day. My grandchildren "love" the game and beg to play when they visit. All in all a good experience.
