Allison Campbell’s life at the moment is on overload. Having left college when her mother became ill and shortly after passed away, and remaining home to care for her father, two sisters, house and a job – Allie hasn’t had time for herself or to even think, she’s been too busy holding her family together for years now… and they have let her. Today her life will fall even further apart, and will change forever.
His Every Need is a sexy, steamy, touching and at times funny love story. When Allie agrees to Trevor’s offhanded, never meant to be taken seriously request the stage is set for sexy encounters, more family troubles than Trevor ever encountered in his life, teenage angst and rebellion, and coming to terms with a parent’s choices in love. Slowly we will see the true Trevor, underneath the arrogant exterior – oh he’s still annoyingly upper handed, but we begin to see some reasons for the way he has chosen to live his life. He doesn’t believe in love, and is totally blindsided when that emotion smacks him in the face.
Charming, entertaining and sensuous enough to have steam floating up from the pages… this is a very sexy book, and one that I completely enjoyed. If you love to see a hard headed male tumble into unknown territories of love – this one will delight you.
It was a good story; one that I enjoyed enough that when the second book was released, I requested an ARC for review. So, back to the question of why I didn't do a review at the time.... Um. *shrugs* I don't have a good answer, other than books that I read for my personal enjoyment I don't tend to do formal reviews for. But when I reviewed the second book in the series, I realized that I should officially review the first.
To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not when I started it. The whole idea of the Alpha-hole guy basically cornering the scared woman into a sexual relationship... eh, sounded a bit creepy, smacked of a bodice ripper historical and so-ho-ho not my usual fair. But I figured I would give the author a chance to convince me with her plot and storytelling. You know what? It worked. I was by turns assured and persuaded to her vision. And though there was plenty of smexy good times to be had, that actually is built up to far more slowly than some other "traditional" plot line romances that I have read.
Trevor's not the A-hole I first envisioned and Allie's not the weak-spined ninny letting the "Man" bully her around. It really is a love story of two slightly damaged people, each with their own hang ups and issues. Together, they complete each other and created something stronger. I especially liked Trevor's crazy parents. Meeting them explained so much. So, so much. I liked it, thought it redeemed my initial fears, so I gave it 3 stars.
So Allie’s father is a real piece of work. He is so focused on himself that he burdens her with not only talking care of the house, but also the issues that arise with his other two daughters. Trevor has such a horrible relationship with his own parents, that he lets Allie believe they are dead. But even with all their faults and drama, it is so easy to fall in love with Trevor and Allie.
In the end there is a HEA and enough tidbits that you want to read the next book in the series.
I actually read To Be His right after (the story told from his POV) and was so glad I did. It really made me love them more.
