“His Faithfulness Reaches to the Skies – The Story of a Missionary Pilot” is made up of stories within the life story of the ministry of Forest and Margaret Zander, who served together as Wycliffe missionaries for over 22 years in South America.
The story is presented in six stages: beginning with Forest’s childhood desire to become a pilot, God’s plan and call on his life, his passion for adventure, early ministry in Ecuador, flying in Colombia, lessons in diplomacy, and experiences as Associate Director of Advancement & Minister-at-Large for Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Many of the chapters are standalone missionary adventure stories with titles including: Met at Gunpoint, Engine Stops at 7,000 Feet, Gator Hunting, No Oil Pressure and No Brakes. The story of the Zander’s experiences in missionary work in South American parallels the history of the Colombia Branch of Wycliffe (SIL) during this period.
Forest Zander is a gifted story teller, skilled communicator, and an inspiring example of faith, hope, humility, and commitment; an inspiration for reader of all ages. “His Faithfulness Reaches to the Skies – The Story of a Missionary Pilot” demonstrates God’s faithful provision, grace, and intervention in the lives of His followers. A powerful story.
I would recommend it to everyone interested in reaching the lost for Christ.
