On an editing note, just a small observation. The scene where Beau is getting out of the shower and Josie is helping him. He is described as being naked and the affect that was having on Josie. Then when they get into it Josie is reaching for his pants button to take them off. Did I missed where he put on pants?
Although this was not the worse book I have read, it was one of the most disappointing because I have enjoyed the authors work in the past. This book- not so much.
My only knock on this book is that many of the story lines are a bit formulaic. A very rich white man from the heroine's past comes back in to her life and puts her in a no way out unless you sex me up situation. Hey, I love this sex (there wasn't that much in this book), but I want to read more characters like Her viking Wolf; the characters were very interesting and the formula wasn't as noticeable.
However, no matter who and what characters she writes, Mrs. Taylor always works in the psychology of her characters their actions explained and their motives relatable; she is a good sound writer who I am a HUGE fan of! Seriously who of us hasn't let our past convince us wrong? Who hasn't played the fool for love?
I feel that if there were a little more time spent on developing the chemistry of the adult characters then the romance aspect of the book would have shown through a lot better. However, I guess it was Beau and his ugly behavior throughout the book that put a damper on things. I'm hopping in the next book Beau's and Josie's romance has a chance to bloom and that he and Colin can be friends for Josie's sake.
All in all it was an disappointing but ok read.
