Overall, not my favourite type of erotic romance. I don't mind a hero who is forceful and dominant, but to show no respect for his submissive is not appealing. There were also a few spelling and grammar mistakes that stood out.
This is the first book of E.K. Sabins that I have read. I have to say this is unique for me to read a billionaire story set in the roaring 1920s. I’m used to the stories being set in the “here and now. “but this takes place many , many years ago.
Orphaned at nineteen Eleanor cannot act as her own guardian. Her plea for help, to a prominent Boston family, lands her an ultimatum: 30 days to marry the handsome heir. She doesn’t want to get married to have a guardian- but the Bostonian family has their own issues going on and need this little miss to help them out. Wanton and Earthy billionaire James Parkman has a secret that has gotten him into trouble with some very seedy characters. He needs this innocent miss to help him out of a jam and he wants him in his bed, no matter how she protests.
The sparks that fly between the two was crazy good. I loved how Ellie stood up in her own way for herself , given the era that they were in and bad boy James gives some down and dirty lovin’ and shows her who the boss is. There are some twists and turns in this story but it made this story oh so much richer. I cant wait for book 2 to come out. The writer has a hit on her hands. The circa date means nothing because a billionaire is a billionaire and I LOVE a naughty bad boy billionaire when there is some erotic games played.
My rating: 4.5 stars
I usually don't fancy historical but I loved this book nonetheless because it's not heavy or boring, but is an unusual setting for a steamy BDSM story that helped to make it new,particular...very interesting!
James is a very secretive, umoral, sexy as hell dominant,he can keep you rooted where you are with only a glance,he can melt you down with simple words and he can make you fly beyond the world with his talented body...and you can't help but fall in love with him!!!
Ellie is a naive, virginal, sober girl who suddenly find herself all alone and forced to face a life where she has to have the help of a man to "survive" 'cause for her society she doesn't have this capacity...and I think that is this necessity that enable her to discover some of her talents, because she is a girl who can takes risk, she wants to please people around her...and I think she is a natural submissive, even before James, only she didn't know it before!
Their encounter lead us to a series of really hot,salivating,pants-wetting scene that will leave you sweaty and needy...or in post-orgasmic bliss!!!
The only fault that I can think of is a little rushed, not clarified insertion of dangers and enemies with nondescript issues and goals, but maybe we'll understand these things later,'cause the story has a happy ending, but the author makes us understand that there will be more about James and Ellie....and I can't wait to read it!!!
