I'm a huge fan of Terry Spear's books. So... HIS WILD HIGHLAND LASS was a must-read for me from the get-go. This novella is nothing short of an enchanted treat featuring a sexy kilted Highlander, a feisty female heroine and a happy ever after ending that will leave the reader with a case of the warm fuzzies. Another huge plus for me was that the Celtic's circle of standing stones, which have always fascinated me, were featured in this story.
Briefly, here's a short synopsis: Threatened by her sister's husband, Sorcha flees from his lands in search of someplace safe Laird Ronan finds her and takes her to his keep. But the attraction she feels to him can go nowhere because he must marry another.
AND here's one of my fav quotes from the tale: “She realized the man holding her as he pulled his horse to a stop was the laird himself.
She couldn't believe he'd leave the feast and his honored guest and not just send someone else after her.
"You were ill and yet you ride alone beyond the castle walls?" Ronan asked incredulously.
She couldn't tell if he was irritated with her or just surprised. He had to have been furious with her if he had left the meal and not stayed with the bonny lass he was courting.
"Riding settles what ails me." She glowered at him. "I am sorry I disturbed your celebration. But I was feeling---"
He leaned down and kissed her then. Hot and passionately on the mouth, like no man had ever done. She was so shocked, she didn't respond at first. And then giving into a need she should have banked for all time because nothing good could ever come of it, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back with just as much passion, desiring this more than anything else in the world.”
I can see myself picking up HIS WILD HIGHLAND LASS to read again and again and highly recommend it!
5 Wine Glasses!
I purchased this as part of a novella bundle with 5 total author's called Kissing the Highlander. I highly recommend this bundle because it has 5 author's I recommend.
This is a novella, but what Terry packs into a novella is amazing. I loved the uniqueness of the story and the secondary character's are just as interesting as our H/h. I felt an immediate connection to our main character's and enjoyed the journey of them discovering their love for each other.
There is passionate lovemaking, mildly descriptive. No cliffhanger, HEA that was amazing. She also includes an epilogue that brought a smile to my face.
I recommend anything by this author and that includes this novella. (ljb)
