This book was so sweet. I am extremely glad that Daniel got the story/mate he deserved. I loved this story. It was so wonderfully predictable. But after the very horrible experience of living on the streets after being thrown out of the house by his parents, Daniel deserved some good things to happen to him. When Danny presented as a an Omega, instead of an Alpha or a Beta his parents made him leave. He suffered, but survived on the streets. Even though he had become street savy, there were bigger meaner Alphas & Betas on the streets would make his life worse as if there weren't for his large good Alpha friend, who kept him safe, in an unsafe crime-ridden environment. Whether it was on the streets, in a shelter, or his own run down apartment in a dangerous neighborhood.
Daniel's intelligence and caring nature were spotted earlier in the series. It was great seeing his character develop and mature. He grew from a secondary character, to a rescuer, to a homeless youth community project planner, to a bike messenger as a young man ready for a very special future.
He has maintained an optimistic view for his future. Despite all he's gone through it didn't make him jaded. He had a better life and with his job he planned to get his own place in a less dangerous neighborhood. He wanted an Alpha and children one day, like his friends in the Omega clinic and on the Portville police force.
Never in his wildest dreams did he expect the fairy tale his life turned into. I loved how sweet the story became in some ways it reminded me of "Pretty (wo)Man". There're some concerns about age difference and social economic status, but except for a few bumps in the road there is definitely a Happily Ever After. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Daniel is down-on-his-luck, but is clawing his way up into a better life for himself when he is thrust into the world of Cameron - who he feels is so far out of his league that they are not on the same planet. Cameron is a billionaire who has shut the world out after the death of his partner. You also get to check in with Mark, Landon, Jake and Stephen from the first two books.
You can not help but root for these two right from the start. Daniel grows and matures, while Cameron learns to open his heart again. And through it all is the wonderful little Maggie - Cameron's young daughter - who with the bluntness only a child can have, draws both men together. There are some really steamy scenes, and some really sweet ones.
This story drew me in from the first chapter and I could not put it down. I also love the way you get a HEA for the main characters, and a warning to stop if you don't want a cliffhanger for the next book. So as a reader you can decide if you want to continue and be left wanting the next book right away (me) or if you want to leave Cameron and Daniel in a good place and just read the next book when it is released. So looking forward to the next one!
I'm not going to lie though but I have been so intrigued about Daniel and his story since we first meet him and I've beenjust dying for his story so when I found out that his book was next I sat, patiently (haha), waiting for it to come out and I'm not at all ashamed to admit to the ear-piercing squeel of joy that admitted when I received it.
Daniel's story touched my heart, yet having lived through what he did, and what unfortunately alot of children do, to be the kind, open, sweet and caring man that he is, is truly amazing. I thought he so strong and how he brought such joy and happiness to those around him makes him a real pleasure to know and he absolutely deserved his hea.
Cameron, my my my, he made me a little quivery! After the loss of his omega I really felt for him and I wanted him to find some happiness so badly for him and his daughter Maggie who was an absolute delight to read about! Having basically locked himself away in order to hide himself from the world hurt me yet he had the strength to move forward with Daniel and make a new life and that was a bit awe-inspiring. He loved his daughter so much and while he only wants the best for her it was the personal growth from Cameron, watching as Daniel helped him open himself more was such a blessing.
This was a fantastic addition to the series and I definitely recommend reading this and I really love this series. I can't wait to read Jason's book next!
