Lord Barrington’s Minx by Alyssa Bailey
THE EDGE OF A VERY DEEP FOREST OF PASSION
A sweet story of two people, Amelia, and Barrington, who grew up together as neighboring children, and become better acquainted at Amelia's first season in London. From childhood, Barrington, nine years her senior, had taken Amelia in hand when he deemed it necessary. As she is presented to the ton, he self-appoints himself as a protector of Amelia and his sister Caroline. The story is charming as these two develop romantic feelings for one another. The dialog is witty, but at times redundant. The cast of characters is well developed. The story has multiple spankings as Barrington corrects Amelia for numerous infractions and no sex. (This is book one from the Chase Abbey Series)
The Gardener by Juliette Banks
Catherine "Kate" Winters is living with her Aunt and Uncle, and now that she is out of school, they expect her to marry. Holding a coming out ball, several men are interested in her, and Lord Josiah Beechwood approaches her Uncle, his decision is made that this is the match. Kate and the gardener, Will Barnes have had minor tryst before her marriage, but never taking her virginity. What a shock on her wedding night to be so clinical by her husband. Marriage among upper class isn't for love but for heirs. Kate and Josiah are no different. Will and Kate can't forget each other, and this is more their story and future. The spankings are mild and playful, and the sex is explicit.
Sir Thomas’s Bride by Vanessa Brooks
TAMING HIS WASPISH SHREW
I enjoyed this story that continued from His Christmas Rose where we met many of the main characters in this follow-up story that will be a new series. Sir Thomas Wiggington has been in love with Lady Margaret Beauchamp since her coming out, and in spite of her wishes, they become engaged, and we start out with them on the day they marry. She is a waspish shrew, just like her mother, but Lord Thomas has ways of taming her nastiness. The plot kept me captivated, and I loved returning and seeing so many delightful characters from the previous story. The dialog has entertaining moments, and the story has some mystery and suspense elements that will eventually be uncovered. There are several laugh out loud moments of tiffs between Lady Rose and Lady Margaret that will land each land in trouble with their dominant spouses. I look forward to more in this entertaining series. (This is from The Masterful Husbands series)
Renaud by Maryse Dawson
I SUPPOSE I DO HATH A PENCHANT FOR GETTING INTO TROUBLE
The story is the beginning of a series where the Normans have conquered England, and King William rules the land. When King William comes to the castle of Gerard de Clairvoy right after his marriage to Elfredia Golderon, he decides that Gerard’s brother, Renaud, should marry, and the bride will be Efrieda’s sister, Cynwise.
The plot is full of angst that has two people, Renaud and Cynwise, forced into a marriage by the King. They neither wanted this but have no choice, if the King says you’ll marry, then you will marry. These two have a way of getting on each other’s nerves, and it adds to the humor of the story. What doesn’t kill you, will make you stronger and maybe closer and more in love. Cynwise does all kinds of things to aggravate her husband, and not all are accidents. The story does not end with a cliffhanger. The de Clairvoy brothers are called into service by the King, and the next book will pick up from there. (Knights of Normandy Book Series)
Hold Fast by Adrienne Blake
SOMETIMES LOVE HAS TO WAIT; IT MUST BE PUT ASIDE FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS
I loved this book and was drawn into the story, the characters, and the multiple tragedies. It is about two warring Scottish clans, the McDonalds and the McLeods. They have been at war for more than a hundred years, and to the point that no one alive even was sure as to what or why just that it was still taking place. What happens when Bonnie McDonald and Rory McLeod fall in love? Will they be allowed a union or will the battles continue? The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning with so many emotions, a deep abiding love that is torn into by war, add deception, plotting, murder, kidnapping, and arranged unions and the story will keep you in suspense. The dialog is emotional, at times heartwarming and other times makes you want to cry and scream at the injustice to women.
Note to Blushing Publication readers; this story is a historical romantic suspense that is completely clean about two clans and two people who love each other. It contains no DD, D/s, BDSM, sex, etc.
The Incorrigible Annabelle Spencer by Louise Taylor
FINDING THE RIGHT MAN
Annabelle Spencer is a girl after my own heart, she is a rule-breaker, not a follower, but that can land this young lady in more trouble than she can get out of. Her attitude and feistiness is upsetting to her family and is a repellent to most men. Sometimes not conforming to society can lead one to their perfect match, even if it comes with strict discipline. (This book is the first in The Ruttingdon Series)
Amelia (Lady Blackwell) and Morgan(Lord Barrington) have been friends
with each other their entire lives. When Amelia is coming out in her first
debut as a young woman is when they find that they are in love. Lord
Barrington wants to give her the full season but finds he can't wait
Catherine Winters has a crush on the gardener Will Barnes. She must marry
in high social ranking and is forced to marry a man not of her choosing but
one that her uncle chooses.Catherine finds her new husband with the maid.
She didn't know where else to turn but to Lady Fitzwilliam that understood
what Catherine was feeling. Catherine's husband Lord Josiah Beechdale.
A lot of drastic circumstances and Catherine finds that she can marry
the one that was right for her.
Sir Thomas's Bride
Lady Margaret becomes the wife of Sir Thomas Wiggington. He put up with
her and her mother referring to him as a nincompoop during the betrothal. She
thinks she can do what she wants to do. Sir Thomas let's her know that he is
going to tame her through Domestic Discipline. He is sure she can learn how
to behave like a lady. He was right.
The story begins with 2 sisters that have been left by themselves as their parents
death by pox. The oldest sister is Elfreda Golderon of noble Saxon birth and she
is marrying Sir Gerard de Clairvoy, a Norman. Cynwise Golderon her sister is to
stay with Elfreda after she marries Sir Gerard de Clairvoy. Sir Gerard's brother
is Sir Renaud de Clairvoy. Renaud and Cynwise are to be wed immediately per
order of the king. Cynwise doesn't want to leave with her husband and he helps
her to see the error of her ways. Cynwise is always in trouble and a handful for
Renaud. He mandates Norman Rule and Cynwise does not like the rules but he
tries to change the error of her ways.
This reminds of the Hatfield and the McCoys. The MacDonalds and the MacLeods
have been fighting for years. Bonnie MacDonald and Rory MacLeods born to be arch
enemies find that they are friends and lovers. Bonnie was supposed to being helped
and watched over by Hamish. A good thing Rory was also watching over Bonnie and
is there at a critical time. There are a lot of twists and turns in this amazing novel.
The Incorrigible Annabelle Spencer
Annabelle is going to the house party with the Duke of Rothmuir and gives slip to her
chaperone and finds herself over the lap of the Duke (she doesn't know it's him). He
feels that he should marry her but she doesn't want to marry him. She agrees to the
betrothal secret between the 2 of them. He shows her at night a whole new sensual
experience and she loves it. There is a lot of thing that happen at Rosemere.
