It's a shame Amazon doesn't make the table of contents of this book visible. If it did, it would been clear to the prospective buyer that the title "History Atlas of North America from First Footfall to New World Order" is misleading. Out of ~140 pages of maps and historical discussion, only 8 pages are devoted to the thousands of years of history predating 1500 CE. A much more accurate title for the book would have been "History Atlas of North America from Columbus to Modern Day".
Do not purchase this book if you are interested in the native American civilizations of Canada, the US, or Mexico in antiquity, the classical periods, or the middle ages.
That said, if your interest is post-Columbus North America, this is a actually a solid book of historical maps. Good treatment is given to colonization, revolutions, and wars (both civil and foreign). The content focuses on US and Canadian history, but moderate treatment of Mexican history also appears.
All told it is a decent historical atlas, just deceptively named.
