Keep in mind that the book was originally published in 2013, and Amazon has come out with new tools since then. Their 2017 edition of converting books into Kindle format is significant improvement, and the author comments about old tools are no longer relevant. The author provides a high level overview of the publishing process, there are many more in-depth book but this one provides bird's eye view that is useful for those who have not done it and want to know general things about the process.
Probably the most useful part of the book are the links in the appendix. Links to the kboards, for example, will help any new author become much more knowledgeable.

One can tell from reading the book that the author has a lot of hands on experience with the subject of self publishing on the Kindle platform.
The book provides many tips and eye openers, especially to authors that are starting out with publishing for Kindle.
I greatly helped me with publishing my own first book.
