HitLights - It's all about power
Your LED light strips won't be noticed if they don't have power. Provide them what they need with our selection of power supplies, from small wall-mounted units, large multi-strip transformers, and convenient, portable battery packs. Your LEDs are an investment - treat them as such with a high quality HitLights power supply.
What does it all mean?
Voltage is a measure of electrical potential. US and Canadian household power is supplied at 110 volts AC (alternating current). Our LED strip lights run on 12 volts DC (direct current).
Wattage is a measure of power. LED strip lights will require a specific amount of power to run, measured in watts. The power requirement of your strips should not exceed the capacity of your adapter!
UL is a nationally recognized organization, performing safety and quality testing on behalf of Federal agencies including OSHA. Many of our adapters are UL-Listed.
How to choose a power supply:
- Determine your required wattage (Most LED strip lights display this as watts per foot)
- Determine any special requirements you have (Should it be weatherproof? Should it be portable? Do you plan on using a wall dimmer?)
- Double check! Are your wattage numbers accurate. Are your input (110 AC) and output (12 DC) voltages accurate?
- You''re done. Get to lighting.
110 volts in
All of our power supplies run on 110 volts AC - standard US and Canada wall power.
12 volts out
All of our power supplies output 12 volts DC - exactly the amount our LED strip lights require.
All of our power supplies are compatible with dimmers, either 12 volts DC or 110 volts AC varieties.
Our power supplies are high quality and backed by a 1 - 5 years warranty. Our most popular models are also UL-Listed.

It arrived well packaged but with minimal instructions (which did not concern me because it seemed pretty straight forward). It has a very handy rocker switch built into the pack for turning it on and off. An LED illuminates to indicate it is on.
To test the pack I hooked it up to a 5m strip of white LED lights. I powered it on and let it run until it shut off after 4.5 hours.
I was pleasantly surprised because the brightness never changed the entire time (that I could tell). After it shut off, I switched the power supply off and back on again. Once again, to my surprise the lights lit up again very bright. I suspect there may be some type of internal timer or temperature sensor that shuts the battery off after a given period of time. In my case this was perfect and would be more than adequate for a night of trick-or-treating.
The only reason I gave this pack 4 stars instead of five is due to the somewhat confusing charging process. Let me start by saying the charging input is the same DC jack as the power output. I was a little leary the first time I plugged it in to charge, but figured correctly that it would have some type of switching mechanism inside to handle this. I just made sure to keep the power switch OFF when charging. The LED lit red and the basic instructions said it would turn green when done charging. After leaving overnight to charge, I was surprised to see it was still red in the morning (after ~ 10 hours). Upon further investigation (reading online comments), I discovered that you must switch the power button ON in order to charge! The instructions did not mention this anywhere and it felt dangerous to turn the power on while power was also coming in through the same jack.
Aside from this minor design flaw, the power pack is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is very durable and well built. I accidently dropped it from about 6' onto hard sidewalk while carrying my son on my shoulders and it didn't even phase it.
In the three months I have had it, I have used this for two additional projects with equally great success.
Hope this review helps with your purchasing decision.
**If you buy this item keep in mind that when charging you need it to be set to ON (I) and not off (O), the wall plug itself has a small led which is red when charging and turns green when fully charged.
