Hitachi designed the C10FCH2 for versatile, easy use. The thumb-actuated positive miter stops allow for simple miter adjustments between zero and 52 degrees. This design allows you to easily change the angle of the cutting blade for creating miters in crown molding and other trim pieces. The C10FCH2 also includes a dust collector that minimizes accumulation of dust and particles in your both your workspace and the saw's interior components, keeping your jobsite clean and prolonging the life of the tool. This saw changed that completely; it is spectacular, seriously. The 5 year warranty is great to have, it cut square immediately out of the box and has plenty of power. The blade it comes with isn't too bad either, though I still put a Freud combination blade on it just to be safe. One thing I noticed is that there isn't any wobble when it's straight up; if you push against the handle a bit the only thing that flexs is the handle not anything else so it can only cut square versus cheaper models often have some movement and require much more care and aren't always accurate.
For $120 this is a steal in my opinion because all you have to do is get it out of the box, plug it in, and cut. Seriously, I cannot recommend this saw enough even for professionals like myself. Hitatchi has a new fan and I can promise I will be buying more very soon!
My biggest issue was getting it assembled. The booklet is complete waste. They could have had a quick start guide with few easy to understand pictures. Fortunately youtube has few videos that shows which part goes where.
It took me some time to figure out how to pull out the locking pin on the back side. Where to put the smaller U shaped bracket on the back side, What to do with mystery thin bracket. Also the clamp when put on the right side is pretty much useless because it interferes with the motor housing.
Once you eventually get it assembled the saw work really well.
The only negative is how much wood dust and pieces are left behind all over the place. This may be normal with all miter saws like this. I can only speak to this particular one. You are going to be blowing wood out of every nook and cranny. Definitely not a deal breaker, but the bag is useless. I would purchase again. Great value
I needed a small chopsaw I could move around b/c the other one is the monster Bosch 12", which is dedicated to the cabinet shop, and stays there. As for dust control- what dust control? Some say the bag takes care of most of it, but it goes wherever it wants to, (mostly to the left of the blade) which is ok with me since it doesn't matter, and I always have to clean up in the end anyway. I love the lightweight, and ease of use. It's just what I needed!! I added a 12x24 plywood base and lock it into my Stanley workmate. I might put some rubber feet on the plywood so I can use it anywhere. It will be my 'house' saw. I will upgrade the blade soon- as usual, they never put great blades on mitre saws, but it is perfect for roughing in timbers.
