The award-winning Hitachi C7SB2 15-Amp 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw has a powerful 15 Amp motor for ripping OSB, 2x4s, plywood, and other common framing materials. And with a wide bevel capacity, adjustable stops, cutting-depth lever, and more, the C7SB2 will tackle heavy-duty professional jobs with ease.
This 15 Amp circular saw powerfully rips common framing materials.
The 24-tooth, carbide-tipped blade slices with precision. View larger.
Winner of the Taunton Press 2005 Best Value award, the C7SB2 features a single-phase 120-volt, 15 Amp motor that generates a no-load saw speed of 5,800 RPM and an output of up to 2,100 watts.
The 7-1/4-inch, 24-tooth, carbide-tipped blade with 5/8-inch arbor powers through tough cuts with ease. It has a 1-27/32" depth of cut at 45 degrees and a 2-3/8" depth of cut at 90 degrees. And with a cutting depth lever, the C7SB2 makes it easy to select the right depth for the job.
Perfect for a Wide Range of Beveling Applications
The C7SB2 Circular Saw is capable of not only making accurate 90-degree cuts, but it can also make clean bevels from 0-55 degrees in just about any common framing material.
An adjustable lever makes it easy to find the bevel stops at 0, 45, and 55 degrees. It helps keep your blade true and accurate by locking the blade in place at the desired angle. A blade guard protects your hands during angled cuts, and a spindle lock provides an extra level of safety.
Full of User-Friendly Features
The C7SB2 has a host of features that will make your next cutting job as easy as can be. To start, a one-piece die-cast aluminum alloy base features easy-to-read front and side scales for accurate measurements.
The non-slip Elastomer-grip handle keeps you in complete control of the tool and provides comfort for all-day jobs. What's more, this saw weighs only 10.1 pounds, so it is extremely easy to maneuver and transport.
To top it all off, an easily accessible carbon brush lets you replace the brush as needed to prolong the life of the tool.
The C7SB2 Circular Saw is backed by a five-year limited warranty.

I needed to cut 3/4 plywood for work around the house but my cordless porter cable PC186CS 6-1/2-inch circular saw would just bind up and refuse to allow ripping, despite blade adjustments and sawing as slow as molasses..although it will cut my 2x4's.
The hitachi saved the day,it cuts like a hot knife through butter or a laser through a James bond bad guy.
The case however despite being made of sturdy plastic, may not last long due to the plastic latches that will eventually fail to latch...would have preferred a porter cable canvas like bag.
There is a hitachi c7bmr that comes with a 2 second brake that cuts the power to the saw so it will stop spinning in only 2 seconds vs 10-12 seconds with this model C7sb2 , but why spend extra...especially if I'm not making repetitive cuts every day.
It just means you have to respect the tool and not pretend it will not quickly detach an appendage if you're careless.
As with any power tool,I don't use it if I'm under the influence of any cold medications or similar products that will make you drowsy, less attentive etc
If I'm sleepy despite any chores I may have to do,no power tools are ever placed into service.
I like my fingers, toes, arms, legs as original operating equipment
That said this saw is a KEEPER,it may be heavier than my porter cable BUT it excels as a circular saw should.
And delivery was prompt, no damage to the product from shipping.
After the first week of use I love power and ease of use ! It has a cast shoe very strong and stable with a scale on the long edge I find very helpful. Heavy but similar to most 15 amp saws, that's the price of power. This saw just blows through every thing I've thrown at it, 2 x, 4x, plywood, oak, no problem. Definitely professional grade, not the saw for weekend warriors who want a lite little saw with a gimmicky laser line to cut their pine 1x4 projects.
Excellent build quality, all adjustment levers are wide heavy duty metal. good heavy duty cord and good ergonomics. The blade has good visibility from the left side, cut line marks and scales on both sides are accurate and highly visible. Blade lock is easy to use, included cast and machined blade bolt wrench is a lot nicer than the little stamped sheet metal wrench you find with most saws. It doesn't attach to saw which I find safer (won't fall out while saw is in use) but the large T handle is easily taped to the cord electrical tape.
I've had Skil consumer grade, Makita, Skil Professional, Bosch, (I won't buy wimpy yellow Dewalt stuff yecch!!! although their good if you like disposable tools) this saw runs smoother! Easily replaceable and available brushes for heavy users. Plus a 5 year warranty, no really 5 YEARS, outstanding!!!
If you need professional power and features this is the with out doubt the best saw I've used and at a bargain price!
After using it on a job teaching High School students construction skills I'm even more impressed. The kids preferred it to the Dewalt and Porter Cable saws always choosing the HITACHI! It held up to 10 students for 8 weeks without any issues.
