Class-Leading Torque for Handling the Toughest Jobs
The corded WR22SA Impact Wrench offers class-leading torque of up to 450 ft./lbs., so you can get tough jobs done in no time. The powerful 7.5 Amp, 850-watt motor generates a no-load speed of 1,800 RPM and an impact rate of 2,000 IPM, which makes the WR22SA ideal for removing stubborn bolts, tackling automobile work, building ships, assembling, and more.

Internal Double Insulation Technology Increases Tool Life
The WR22SA boasts Exclusive Internal Double Insulation (IDI) technology, which significantly extends tool life and durability by protecting the motor from damage. And because the WR22SA's armature bearing is seated in aluminum--not plastic like the other guys--it can withstand the potentially damaging heat that's produced by extreme use.

The WR22SA's aluminum body provides additional protection and durability, so you'll get to use this wrench for a long time to come.

Full of User-Friendly Features
Like all Hitachi tools, the WR22SA is full of features that were designed with the user in mind. To start, a non-slip Elastomer grip reduces vibration, keeps you in complete control of the tool, and provides comfort for all-day jobs. What's more, the WR22SA is the most compact and lightweight wrench in its class, measuring just 11-15/16 inches in length and weighing 10.6 pounds--so it's plenty easy to maneuver and transport.

For further convenience, the WR22SA features a heat-resistant bumper that protects you, the tool, and the workpiece from bumps and scratches. Additionally, an easy forward/reverse rocker switch allows you to quickly change the direction of the 3/4-inch square drive chuck.

The WR22SA is backed by Hitachi's industry-leading Professional Five-Year Limited Warranty.

After a very disappointing experience with a 1/2 in Craftsman electric impact wrench from Sears, I began my quest for something that could actually take lug nuts off my Acura. You would have assumed a $160 "Powerful Craftsman" could do it, but it barely moved one 19mm nut torqued to approx. 80 lb-ft. I needed something more. A google search revealed the Hitachi WR22SA on Amazon with an excellent review, so I bought one for myself.

Make no mistake.. it may be electric, but this thing is a very serious tool. First, it is BIG and HEAVY. The Amazon "Product Details" lists it at 17.2 LBS which sounds accurate. It will give your wrist a workout just holding it up, but it is worth it for the shear power it pumps out. It removes lug nuts with ease. I performed a brake job with it, and it saved me a huge amount of time and work. Because it is so powerful, it really doesn't twist in your hands as I expected it would.

The impacts happen so quickly, the nut/bolt is off instantly. Be careful, because once it enters free-spin and can throw things with force. If you plan on using smaller 1/2 impact sockets from NAPA, Sears, etc., you will need to buy a 3/4in to 1/2in adapter. They are very hard to find locally, but online, there are several stores that offer them. This way, you aren't limited to only large 3/4 socket sizes.

I would recommend this tool to anyone that does not have access to a powerful air compressor but needs something strong with 110 AC. The price is steep, but worth every penny.

I bought this and it sat for like a year...I have had the opportunity to use this rebuilding the front end on my 05 3500 Silverado Dually and I'll tel ya...This thing gets it done...Lug nuts...No sweat...rusted on steering box bolts...Like butter. This thing has paid for itself as far as I am concerned!

I have owned several air impact wrenches and my experience with electric ones were they underperformed. The Hitachi is in a class of it's own! Well made, heavy duty, and able to tackle any job that my air impacts did! For someone that does not have high capacity air compressor, this is an excellent alternative.

The purchase price on this Hitachi Impact Wrench was so much lower at this site, that I figured that it must be used. However that was NOT the case. it arrived in perfect shape brand new and quite frankly I never realized that something like this was even made considering its torque and power.

I needed a strong impact gun to use to maintaining my MCI motor coach. This thing did not disappoint me. I was able to spin the lug nuts off, as well as the Budd wheel inner studs. They'd been tightened to 500 ft/lbs, so I'm sure that the 450 ft./lb rating is conservative. I'm also using it to change the suspension bushings, which have been on there a looong time. It spun two of the rusted fasteners off like they were child's play. If you need a big, serious electric impact tool I have a hard time believing you can do better than this one.

Bought this tool to ease maintenance and repair work on my truck.

This thing will remove your log nuts with ease. Be careful when tightening this thing is a monster.

I bought this because it was the highest torque electric impact wrench, and I figured it was cheaper than buying a pneumatic one plus a large enough compressor to run it. (Check both PSI and flow ratings if you're considering pneumatic alternatives).

The wrench itself worked well, but the rocker switch is flaky, and requires you to wiggle back and forth to get the wrench to reverse. I'd forgive that if Hitachi had more accessible and responsive service. The choices of where I could bring it for service would all take me at least 2 hours round trip, or I could pay to ship it to them. I tried to get them to just send me the $30 switch, but they wouldn't. In the end I'll just buy it myself, so it's like a $30 tax on top of the very high purchase price.

So minus 1/2 star for poor QA, minus another 1/2 for the high price, and minus 1 full star for not just sending me the switch with proof of purchase. Anyone who buys one of these for its intended purpose is likely sufficiently qualified to open the grip and unplug the switch for replacement.

I usually make extensive search whenever I am about to by anything especially tools related. I purchased this impact wrench based on the reviews, and I am telling you, this thing is a beast.

Lug nuts in 2 seconds, crankshaft pulley in 3 seconds (been in the car for 5 years never changed before), suspension work no sweat.

Since this is 3/4 in, you might need an adapter if you have 1/2 sockets. The one I bought was Williams 38005 3/4 Female x 1/2 Male Impact Adapter, and it did not disappoint me so far.
I needed also to buy an impact sockets set and I got the Sunex 2646 1/2-Inch Drive Metric Impact Socket Set, 26-Piece. I really did not need any more sockets since this one has almost all the sizes needed for my work. It is well built and fully guaranteed.

Also, if you needed 1/2 in wobble drive extension to go with it, I recommend Sunex 2504. It will help in tight places.

The price is a little bit on the expensive side, but seriously it worth EVERY CENT.

Pros: Powerful, well made and balanced (manufactured in Japan)
Cons: That thing is heavy (about 11 lb) so it will give your wrest some workout, I really don't mind that but I thought to make sure you know. Also it is bulky, so you might have to work your way in tight places, but not a big deal really.
