A Must Read For Everyone Who's Interested in History

I have been aware for quite some time of how the banking system and the Federal Reserve control the money supply and subsequently impact the economy by inducing economic booms and which end up with devastating busts. After reading the Creature from Jekyll Island, I learned about the banking cartel's vested interest in the military industrial complex. But what I wasn't aware of, was how large American corporations such as Rockefeller's Standard Oil, General Electric and Ford Motors have contributed to the financing of Hitler's rise to power and the implementation of economic fascism. I also wasn't aware of the connection between Hitler's election in Germany and FDR's in the United States, both coming into power during the same year, 1933. The conclusion I drew from reading this book, was that in addition to making a lot of money, the leading elites of such Wall Street companies (along with several leading New York banks) had a crucial goal of gaining monopolistic control of the economy. By using the coercive power of the government and its politicians, they're able to eliminate competition through the implementation of regulations, tariffs, and taxation (which were putting the smaller competitors out of business). By using extensive propaganda of associating capitalism with negative attributes and by largely contributing to economic devastation (such as the Great Depression via the boom/bust induced by the central bank) the leading Wall Street elites were successful in establishing monopolistic industries and introducing economic fascism in Germany (note that these were not the only factors contributing to the rise of fascism but were very instrumental in the economic transformation which lead to the rise of Hitler and consequently to WW2). Thus, it was important that they could control who comes into leading position powers of the nation, both in Germany and the U.S. at that time (which, I suspect, is still happening today). The author has done an excellent job documenting from the U.S. government archives (and other sources) the events detailing piece by piece the contributions made to the rise of fascism and the election of Hitler (and FDR in America). He uncovers the financial contributions with exact amounts, by which American corporation and German or European affiliate, often with evidence of the banks' receipt of such funds. Mr. Sutton eloquently elaborates on the evidence of the profits made (while in monopolistic status) by Wall Street large corporations when engaged in providing the necessary resources (armament, gun powder, tanks, etc.) to conduct what many may call it "Hitler's War". But one can very easily come to the conclusion (after reading the book) that without the contributions (financial, equipment, and technology) of the banking cartel and Wall Street large corporations (described above plus more listed in the book) Adolph Hitler would have remained an unknown socialist ideologue that would have never made it into history books. After reading this book, I see the world with different eyes. This ought to be a must read on the reading list of every American and European child, in every school, in every history book. But the Road to Serfdom must continue and it appears that it may not be convenient to teach the historical facts which reveal the truth.
