I live in a 12 volt world (aboard a boat) and monitoring my battery banks is critical. I bought this because of the price ($4) and the fact that it was blue. I don't like red though there is a 3-wire red one 3.5 12V Red LED 20V DC Voltage Digital Panel Meters available ...

Anyway, yesterday I made a mounting bracket (hinged so it will rotate) and attached it to my system. The wire is not marine standard (not stranded) but it seems of sufficient quality for the job at hand. It accurately displays voltage (checked via multi-meter)

So, now I have one in my cabin and today I'm back ordering another one -- for in the galley next to the new cigarette lighter Marinco 12V Receptacle Blk Plas Tic outlet I'm putting in for my DVD player. Can't wait!!!

The good parts:
#1) price
#2) the numbers are easy to read/see (even without my glasses)
#3) it's small size makes placement easy

The bad:
#1) The bezel doesn't come off so mounting took more time than it should have
#2) the wire isn't stranded

Would I buy again? Yes, as a matter of fact -- I'm doing that in just a few moments! :)

I bought this on a whim and figured at worst i'd only lose $6. I was very impressed with the mounting enclosure for this. I ended up installing it on my F150 to give me a digital readout as opposed to the analog (inaccurate) sweep meter. I love this little gadget!

This are rated from 4.5 to 30 volts, actually read as low as 3.5. The shipping was measured in weeks (that's what cost the 1 star), the price incredible and the items work flawlessly. I was able to cut a hole with a dremel in the container I am using for a battery charger that that meter snapped into without any problems.

This is a great little meter. Using it on our RV for a quick look at our RV battery voltage. Placed a push switch in the circuit to get a temp look at the status. It also has polarity protection so not to be damaged if hooked up wrong. Would have given it 5 stars, but took months to get - shipped from China.

Works fine but, as it has no separate power supply (2 wire model), it will not function if the voltage you are measuring is less than 4.5 volts. I also found these items to be not quite as accurate as stated in the specifications. A known voltage of 11.8 volts measured as "12.1" volts in the display. These are supposed to be accurate to 1 percent. That being the case, the 11.8 volts should have measured no more than 11.9 (11.918 volts). A reading of 12.1 volts is high by about 2.54 percent. I know they cost a bit more but I am going to stick with the more advanced models that have three wires (which provides for a pair of wires to power the display and a separate wire for the voltage to be measured). In addition, the more advanced models sometimes have adjustment pots so you can calibrate the display to make it more accurate.

Nice bright blue display, easy to use and wire into your projects. I am using this for my SOLAR system battery bank power level meter. It stays on 24/7 and has a very low current draw. This has been in the system for about 5 weeks now and works great, and is not dimming in brightness. It is fairly accurate, +- 3% when checked with my Fluke 116 meter.

I bought this to check 9v rechargeable batteries used in microphones. I would give it 5 stars instead of 3 except for one reason - it's reading does not always agree with other meters. It's possible that the 3 other various voltmeters are all wrong but very unlikely. This device reads 7.5 volts for some batteries when the voltmeters read around 9 volts. That makes it unacceptable for my use. The only reason I didn't give it one star is that it is a neat device for the price. If you need accuracy I suggest that you do some verification.
