Editorial Reviews

Review

"I thought it was going to be hard to top Minka & Owen's love story. Carrie has not only done it but somehow made me fall in love with Miles. I loved Miles redemption story and how Chloe no matter what believes the best in people. Great book, devoured it in a day!" -Sweet & Spicy Reads

"I was so excited and intrigued with that first page. I love that feeling when you are instantly drawn into the story!...Great showing not telling with a level of artistry that shocked me in its clarity and simplicity...Her sex scenes are liquid lava that had me wanting to reach into my "special" drawer...I think Hitting to Win has a chance at becoming a best seller." -Kali Cross, Author of the Fighting Love series

Aarons does a fantastic job at carving Miles' character out from the stress and pain so that even while you cringe at his harsh words, you also hurt a bit more for him. I was relieved to see that she also continued to mark her characters with the maturity that I noted and loved in her first book. This book gives us more heat and chemistry than I was expecting and I ended up enjoying this book even more than the first. I'm going to give this one 4 stars!" -#TheBookNerdLife

After his girlfriend breaks his heart, the normally good-natured Miles Farriston becomes an angry, brooding jerk taking his hostility out on everyone who comes in his proximity.

Chloe Trabucco has harbored a crush on Miles since they were kids and she sees his newly single status as a chance to finally get the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, Chloe has become Miles' number one target and the sweeter she is to him, the meaner he gets.

The tables turn when the two are thrown together in a dance competetion, and Miles realizes the error of his ways. But just when he decides that Chloe is perfect for him, she decides that she's had enough of Miles and his moody ways.

I liked this story and I love the alternate cover for this book - it's so Miles! Miles was a real jerk at first but Chloe put her foot down and let him know that she deserved better! Miles' character showed real growth throughout the story and this was an overall engaging read!

I mean could Miles be any more cuter if he tried. This was the perfect follow up book. Chloe was always going to have fight for her man, and she did it with out batting an eye lash....most of the time. I loved that she never gave up on him, but when she had no choice Miles stepped up and won her back. Love this series so far.

I am a huge sports romance fan so I was really intrigued about Hitting to Win when it flashed up in my recommended list from Amazon. There was something in the synopsis that seemed to lure me in and grab my attention but I don't think I realised just how much this book was going to capture my imagination, heart and mind in the process. I think, from the time I opened Carrie Aaron's book until the end, a mere twenty four hours had passed with little to now sleep in between, so addictive was this story. There is something so eloquent and romantic in a tale about a troubled and lost hero and a light sweet, optimistic heroine that tries to pull him out of his self enforced darkness and with Hitting to Win that is exactly what we got just with innumerable layers and depths to the whole plot. It's very much character driven but when your hero is a baseball star in the making with an incredibly disturbing home-life and dismal outlook on life in general and your heroine is beyond intelligent but has so much compassion and loyalty to those around her, you're guaranteed to have one phenomenal book on your hands.
Miles is foul in the beginning, his dark mood spreads around him like a barrier, keeping people away and generally causing mayhem and an abundance of hurt in its wake. Most poignantly is how it affects Chloe. The dynamic between these two is nothing short of wondrous. It's electric, like two opposing forces sparking off each other causing an insane amount of sexual tension that explodes and tears up the pages as well as the sheets.

Holy hotness. I'm not sure if I like broody Miles or happy go lucky Miles better. He is sex on a stick. Yummy. This book is amazing. The first one in the series was great but I think this one beat it. Love it. A must read.

Chloe was the biggest pushover ever, and I am not saying this because she was supposedly always a ray of sunshine. I honestly didn't get that...I know the author said it was so, but really there wasn't enough in the story to truly warrant that description. The hero...That dude was so rude and mean to her, that I can't imagine he would miraculously have feelings for her after. They knew each other for years, he knew she liked him just as long, and she was so caught up in the idea of him that it was weird, and awkward, and painful. This is definitely someone's bad imagination at play here. Miles was cookie cutter as well. The real problem is that the characters are so under developed and the plot so weak that it is difficult to connect. I keep trying to stat away from young/new adult but somehow I get tricked into it. Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited.

No, just NO!! I hate weak female h and Chloe was a freaking door matt!! O.K. so Miles goes through the entire book apologizing, telling her how perfect she is and that he will never hurt her again - oh and that he loves her - really?!? And she relents, accepting that he's been hurt in his life as an excuse for all the times he uses her as a punching bag. She does tell him one time throughout the book that she would not allow him to use her as a punching bag but goes right back for more. This is so not a good message for our young girls I would have kick his a$$ out after the second time he apologized.

*****************SPOILER ALERT *********************************************************************************************************************************
Not only was I disappointed in the h but there were many part of the story that were not realistic. OK so Miles isn't a rich boy anymore but he can afford to buy 10 dozen roses for Chloe for Valentine's day. Do you realize how expensive roses are? Especially during Valentines day? AND he had enough left over to buy a last minute plane ticket to New York. Oh and he has enough money from tips for living expenses after working 2 months to survive an entire semester? They both drop out of college to pursue their careers and her parents support that?!?!?

I had to try really hard to finish this book, in fact I couldn't wait to finish it fearing I was going to throw my I Pad at the wall.
Too bad, I really enjoyed Minka and Owen's story.
