How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This is one of our go-to favorites for guitar-driven, instrumental Christmas music. Gary Hoey is a supreme musician with blazing chops, yet he has great respect while breathing new life into these holiday classics. This CD is high-octane fun -- from a searing, face-melting rendition of 'Twelve Days of Christmas' to the country-fried 'Jingle Bells' bop. A no brainer gift for your musician friends, and anyone who lives to rock.

Glad I have this CD! listen to it every year around Christmas.

awesome cd and awesome service!

Gary Hoey is incredible. Why? Because he's the poor-man's Joe Satriani, SRV, Albert Lee, Bonnie Raitt, Jimi Hendrix, and Paul Gilbert all at once. He can go from way too many pinch harmonics to bad Stevie Ray Vaughn licks in the blink of an eye.
It might sound like I'm bashing him, but the truth is, this is a really cool CD, with cool arrangements (90% of the time), some really, really good licks here and there, and plus, its a great alternative for one who is tired of all the "Yanni Ruins Christmas"-esque music circulating around Christmas time.
As far as this CD goes, its fun and its interesting, and its worth the money around Christmas time. As far as Gary's original stuff... eh, not so cool. But this is a winner!

Well that's what this is, at least parts of it anyway. Guitar virtuoso Hoey's first Christmas cd is a refreshing change of pace from traditional Christmas offerings. With his wah-wah "Rudolph" his countrified "Jingle Bells" his feedback laden "White Christmas" his slide guitar "Blue Christmas" and his Hendrix-tinged "Auld Lang Syne", Hoey delivers classic Christmas melodies with style and humor. His headbanging versions of "12 Days" and "God Rest Ye" will blow your doors off. A fine effort from a talented musician. Check out Vol's 2 and 3 which are as good or better.

I've always been a Gary Hoey fan, but when I heard him on my local rock station say he had a Christmas album, I had to get it. It was the middle of summer a couple years ago, and this album seems to only sell during certain parts of the year (so get it now! ). I was blown away with the hard rocking parts of the CD. This is a must have for EVERYONE!
