Mike Cernovich is my friend. I know this because he entrusted me to edit the nearly 130,000 words of interview transcriptions from his Hoaxed movie. It was no small feat, but was the most rewarding and challenging assignment I’ve ever been asked to tackle. I LOVED IT.
There’s something very powerful that happens when you are reading the actual dialogue between two intelligent people. The conversation is meaningful and flows in a different manner than when you are reading authored words on a page. It’s raw and edgy. And that’s exactly what this book is.
It was my intent in editing Hoaxed to not correct for grammar in keeping with the true responses by those interviewed for the movie. Unlike other works I’ve edited, I found very few issues in that area, because these people are thoughtful, brilliant and well-educated. Punctuation became key in maintaining the flow of the conversations and the intended meanings that could completely change with the incorrect placement of something as simple as a comma.
Some of these conversations brought me to tears. Some left me with a renewed hope. Many angered me. People will be moved in different ways depending on what matters the most to them in their world.
You WILL be moved by Hoaxed—that’s certain.
This book isn’t political. It has nothing to do with which “side” anyone’s political leanings fall. It’s a well-sourced discussion with eleven thoughtful people who were interviewed for the Hoaxed movie, as well as fifty-four pages of relevant, opening essays by filmmaker, Mike Cernovich.
All of these folks have personal experiences with the mainstream media. They’re sharing their experiences with you in this incredible book, because Mike thought it was important that their time and truths be shared uncut and unlimited as his film certainly required. They simply had a lot more to say and you deserve to hear it. I hope that when you’re reading this book that you feel you can “hear” the conversation. That was also important to me during the editing process.
