The ability to flip is so simple, you press the right stick and it starts beeping, then you choose what direction you want it to flip and it just does a flip. Very cool.
My biggest complaint, especially coming from the Estes Proto X is the length of time you have from when the lights start flashing and the batter cuts out, its about 2 seconds so hopefully it won't be too high and then drop.
The ability to flip is pretty cool. I like things that just work and this thing did. The controls are identical to the ProtoX but you can feel a difference when flying it. Something else I noticed is that when you rotate the copter it drops in altitude. Not a fan of this but I understand this is how it rotates is by slowing down specifc blades, but maybe somehow there is a way to compensate.
Overall this is a great little toy that can be a lot of fun. My 9 yr old daughter picked it up right away and was able to fly it perfectly.
I recommmend this quad to beginners and experienced people. It can really perform but also is forgiving with controls.
It is a hobby grade product, which means performance, product support and replacement parts.
The battery is hard wired but it is a common type so if you had to replace it you could solder a new one on.
It will not bind to other hobby receivers
It is pretty crash proof
It is best indoors and will not handle wind well
The lights are pretty and very bright. The lights help you keep orientation.
I think this could teach beginners to fly rc collective pitch helis and rc planes
If you skip the manual make sure to press in on the right stick cause that will make it do a cool flip
One problem. There is a circuit board via right in a structural weak point. This will be the first thing to break every time. Please make the legs a little stronger, and don't do stupid with the design.
