I have a larger head, and these glasses are perfectly snug. I took them on a good hike yesterday—with spurts of jogging and sprinting—and not once did I feel like they were in danger of falling off. As others have said, they may be a bit large for the smaller-headed, especially the large lenses; but for me, they’re perfect.
When driving home from work wearing these glasses, it’s like looking at the world through a beautiful, unblemished window—I truly see things more clearly. These glasses filter out unnecessary rays and glare quite well. I have not tried any higher-end glasses (read as “more expensive”) and so have nothing to compare these against, but for $50, these are a no-brainer.
The look of the Dogpatch may not be for everyone. They sort of look like blind person sunglasses—with the large lenses—but like, a beachy blind person. These glasses strike me as choosing function over form, which is exactly what I’m all about—I don’t care how I look, as long as they work. But not everyone thinks this way. You could probably find a better-looking pair, if that’s your thing, but be prepared to pay more.
They have the mirror lenses which I enjoy oh so much. They fit on my head perfectly, many reviews said they are meant for bigger heads, but I have a medium head. Im 16, and I lifeguard, so they fit perfectly when Im scanning. And even though its in purple, it looks very badass.
CONS- They are sturdy and wont break, BUT they have the Quality of 5 dollar glasses. For me its just preference.
OVERALL- These are pretty rad and fit my head, awesome color and great lenses!
Fit: The Dogpatch has a larger frame 58mm which is a few millimeteres wider than the large Rayban. This large size fits my face very nicely and the frames are very comfortable
Finish: Even nicer than previous Hobie models I've owned
The only slight design thing I wish they'd change is to make the arms a bit longer. I like to wear my sunglasses on top of my head when I'm indoors for a few minutes and these arms are not long enough to stay behind my ears. This is more preference and not a negative.
