This recent upgrade on blu-ray is an absolute REVELATION when compared to the earlier DVD release…IN EVERY WAY! Every episode looks and sounds pristine, and the problematic sound sync issues are long gone with this release. On display now are much sharper images, a deeper, richer color palette and improved soundtrack fidelity. Set decorations, in or out of Stalag 13 take on a new clarity and even the consistent perspiration on General Burkhalter’s face is evident in many episodes! And all the beautiful women that graced this series (OMG Arlene Martel as Tiger) are looking better than ever. Fun Fact: Is anyone aware that Bob Crane was an accomplished drummer and he provided the percussion during the opening credits? True story! In conclusion, just about all the extras have been ported over from the DVD but there is ONE sorely missed no-show: a commercial for Jello, in which the POW’s are enjoying a bowl in the barracks and even Schultz gets a taste. So hold onto your DVD set if it means that much to you-but definitely snap up this stellar upgrade! That’s an order!

I'm not sure that I had watched all of the episodes when they came out in the 60s. I am enjoying them again and with some episodes I had missed. I do not know how or why I had one disc malfunction. With 27 discs, I wanted to check out all 27 before I reported it to Amazon. So late at night, I requested that they send a replacement disc for the one that would not work. I just wanted a replacement for the bad one but they sent out a replacement SET of all 27 discs. The next day, the bad disc worked. I tried to cancel the replacement shipment but it was too late to stop it.

Excellent HD remasters of a fun classic TV series

No one is going to buy this set unless they already know and like the TV series, so I'm not going to review the series itself. Instead, I'll just talk about the fact that these are excellent high definition transfers of the series -- sharp, colorful, and detailed. Unless you happened to watch this show when it ran on HDNet in the early 2000s, you've never seen "Hogan's Heroes" look this good. And, in fact, if you did see it on HDNet, those are the same transfers as are used for this set. In the early days of high definition television, Mark Cuban needed content for his HDNet cable network so he actually paid to have all the episodes of "Hogan's Heroes" remastered from the original camera negatives and transferred to high definition. The care taken in that work showed when the episodes aired on HDNet (I saw a few of them at the time), and it shows on this blu-ray set.

This is a great set released on blu ray. Hogan’s Heroes is a terrific which has divided people over the years. My response is-don’t overthink it, just enjoy a very funny series with a great cast.
There are 21 discs with 168 episodes of the six seasons the show was on. The quality is fantastic, crisp clear picture and great sound. Those.of you who have watched this show on satellite/cable TV and had to endure episodes of varying quality, or episodes cut to fit in commercials, will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of this set.
To put it bluntly, any fan of Hogan’s Heroes should buy this set. You will get your money’s worth. The episodes played in Australia on my machine but I do have a multi region Blu Ray player. Those of who have a blu ray player that doesn’t play Region A can get the set from Amazon.de. It is in German but the audio is both in German and English, you choose which one you want. That is also another high quality set. I should know, I bought a copy of that before this set came out.

No doubt the compete series are in the box, b but the discs are all piled together which makes selecting a particular disc almost impossible without virtually removing all discs. Replacing discs in box is a nightmare. However it gets worse because they are all region coded NTSC and won't play back on dvd player or compter for that matter. In short a pile of junk.

I would prefer to give NO STARS as I am very unhappy. This is because the complete series of Hogan's Heroes I purchased came from Amazon USA, but I did not think that a problem as in the past I have changed the region. The region map came up but there was no window giving the opportunity to change the region. Yet on some discs it said it could be changed 3 more times and on others 2 times. I have tried it on ios and Windows 7 but nothing will let me change the region. Although it says it can be changed, the discs seem locked into Region 1.
