I've purchased this item 6 months ago as a present for my son. He is very keen accordion player and this was the best ever present for him. I've also known Hohner brand as very reliable and quality brand for various musical instruments including keyboards and accordions.

Very soon, after about two months (to late to return the item), my son's joy and excitement were replaced by frustration - couple of bass buttons got stuck. It is not easy task in New Zealand to find somebody you can trust to repair accordion, but we found a man who managed to fix it. It hasn't lasted long, though - after a month, different pair of bass buttons got stuck and that is the story happening every three to four weeks so far. Waste of money and waste of time ...

Accordions are very complex and expensive instruments, so my advice is DO NOT BUY IT unless you are covered by the warranty. I took the risk, bought it from Amazon (because it is almost impossible to get your hands on new accordion in New Zealand) hoping that it will serve my son at least 2-3 years .... Big and costly mistake.

If it wasn't for this design problem, it would be 4 or 5 star accordion in this price bracket. I've learnt my lesson the hard way.

I got this accordion for Christmas 2013...it is a beautiful accordion that sounds good and very nicely designed. As these Hohners are made in China and not Germany, I was told there would be some quality issues...and there were; however, HohnerUSA fixed all of them and made the accordion sound beautiful. I sent it in during the first 90 day warranty. These accordions are made on German machines and supervised by Hohner staff from Germany.
