I got that Kade was almost destroyed by his loss and I can understand the attraction to Georgia, but the connection between the two of them never really "gelled." There could have been a lot more intimate detail of their lives (not explicit sex though) before she fell in love with him and I thought he fell far too conveniently for her. The other distractions were unconvincing.
In spite of this I liked the book and bought the next in the series on the strength of it.
Anyone who has suffered a loss can relate to this story - the heartbreak, the way it alters who you are, how you live your life. I was captivated by the initial mystery of the main male character and I found I was unable to put the book down because I was so eager to learn more about him. I felt the story flowed well and since I was so captivated by it I was able to finish reading it in one morning. Don't forget the tissues though, this story is an emotional one!
If you like romance and a true love story, I highly recommend this book.
As anyone knows in real life moving on and learning to start over is never easy. Even if you are leaving behind things that were not good for you. I get Kade's pain and his issues with moving on. I could really feel his pain over even the simplest things like the coffee mug or a kiss near his daughter. As for Rylan , I wanted to yell , get over it already. Yes you can be wounded for years and unable to trust again but for me it seemed her holding on to Jake was a little much. Sometimes the pushy BFF annoys me but in this story I was cheering her on , yes Allie thank you for pushing Rylan more than some would. Of course once Rylan was able to overcome that fear of letting someone in Kade goes and screws it up because of his fears. Damn Jake and his bad timing. Greyson was a happy uplifting piece of the story but I did feel bad for him and wish he had stuck around in some aspect of friend or even if he put up a fight !! I am a sucker for punishment !! I truly enjoyed the subtle mentions of sexual activities. It was refreshing to read a story that did not revolve around physical relations !! Don't get me wrong I love it but it was nice to have more to the relationship than that !! I loved Lily Eve , such a cute little girl with a great name and story. All in all I was happy with the story , I loved where it went and I was pleased with the ending. I will definitely read more by this author new and old !!
