Carter was very naive dealing with the mother of his children, Maggie. As kind as Carter was she was just as nasty and disgusting. She had absolutely no redeeming qualities. Her behavior will definitely get you angry with her terrible lifestyle choices. Carter wants a big family and will put up with Maggie to make sure she delivers the babies. She is only about two things sex and money and the babies was no where on her radar. When the children are 4 years old when the story becomes current. Carter is such a loving and focus father to the triplets.
Then we meet the most amazing, Elizabeth. Carter hasn't felt anything in years for as desiring a woman's touch. We can think Maggie for his change of heart. I was so glad that he found Elizabeth. The care and love she gives to him and his girls is like she had always been there with them. These children will steal your heart.
The girls are loved so much that Elizabeth is constantly overwhelmed that she is finally apart of the life she envisioned. You can't be happy forever because Maggie comes back with an evil and dangerous scheme to get the kids back. She has returned with a plan that is a long and hard journey for Carter and Elizabeth. They fight hard and tirelessly to put their family back together. Carter's best friend, Mikael is totally loyal and committed to make sure his angels and the father are always safe. Angela is Elizabeth's bestie and her son Alfonso add to this newly formed circle you wished you were apart of.
It was an emotional read but was written very well. The characters were wonderful and the dialogue flowed very effortlessly. For this being the author first book I feel she will be a successful at her craft.
What a book it was,
There was certainly some less then pleasant characters or I could say some people who may have needed to be put in their places Lol
Carter always wanted and dreamed of starting a family and he though his dreams were coming true with his hmmm... excuse me his girlfriend maggie but lies, the so and so people do everything to trick and scheme behind his back then he gets a part of his wish and just when he thinks everything is falling into place for him his world is turned upside down.
Then along comes Elizabeth.
I don't like giving much away of a story and but this one is definitely worth buying and reading Congratulations Kiki I really enjoyed reading your Book.
All in all a great debut title for her!
She takes you on Carter Montgomery’s ride of life. Through many twists and turns and unexpected mountains and wonderful outcomes too! He is a man who every women would swoon for, yet one who can be taken advantage of very easily. When Elizabeth unexpectedly comes into his life, he knows what he must do to keep his family together. I don’t like spoilers so I will leave it at that! You’ll have to get your copy of “Holding On” and find out for yourself what happens to Carter, his family, and Elizabeth!!
I can’t wait to see what Kiki writes next! I’m hooked!
Editing errors and a couple of areas with the flow of words/ sentences is what has me more at a 3.5 star rating. The characters were likeable, the secondary characters are great and the book itself is very good for this authors first release!
