This is, by far, the best knitting book I own. The instructions are very clear and in plain english. The back section explains each stitch very simply. The authors offer lots of personal tips on each project. The book, itself, is beautiful. The pictures are crisp and admirable, the set up is intuitive. I love the way it breaks the projects down into the amount of time it will take to complete each one. I have flipped through some other holiday knitting books, and the same old predictable Santa intarsia is featured in each one. These designs are classic and perfect for gift giving.

I just received this book. I have many, many books on knitting. Most of the books have a few patterns that I would consider, but this book...I wish I had received it earlier because I want to make every pattern. It is the first book that I have received where I will find time to make everything. I have a pretty good idea what everybody on my list is getting next Christmas. If you want something that has some different ideas in knitting, plus cute, different standbys, get this book.

I picked up with book in the book store to have something to look at while my children played with the train set. I had no intention of buying it, but I loved it. The entire book is wonderful. The patterns are doable, cute and easy. The photography is great too. I bought the book and can't wait to finish all the projects!

Knitting is such a fun hobby! I have enjoyed the patterns and designs in this book. It has helped me relax and enjoy my surroundings. When I am knitting I feel so content and calm, I understand that knitting is very good for calmness and I have found it to be so. The designs are well written and I feel confident in my skill level as I work through this book. I love the color choices that they use for the different projects. My kids enjoy my calmness and the projects - they too have confidence. It is something that we can do together! Thanks for a good book, with good projects, and wonderful color schemes for the projects. So many fun seasonal ideas!
I like the comfort of purchasing on Amazon. I know I can count on them for excellent service and I have never been let down. Sometimes it is necessary to make a return of an item and I like the flawless way that returns can be handled on Amazon. They are without a doubt the very first “go-to” whenever I want to make a purchase. Whether it is a book, or something for my home or office, or an item of clothing I always check for availability on amazon first. When I want to get a gift item and have it delivered directly to the home of the recipient it is truly awesome! I also find it exceptionally helpful when I want to buy multiples of a specific item as I can usually find what I want from one source or from multiple sources. Thanks Amazon for making it so easy to purchase whatever I want, whenever I want! I love to shop from my computer or even from my phone, or even in my pj’s!

Right after I purchased this book, I started receiving the '06 holiday issues of all the knitting magazines I subscribe to. I was a little disappointed to see so many of the patterns re-printed (with the exact same photos so they were a easy to spot) in this season's magazines. I kind of feel like I paid for them twice! I should have just skipped the book.

But---the book is beautifully done and photographed. But in my opinion, many of the patterns are pretty time consuming (many with lots of finishing), so I'm not sure they will be very fast gift projects. And many of them are pretty advanced patterns.

I have not made anything from it but I really want to. Look like clear directions and nice pictures of finished work would be a good book for a newbie knitter who want to get a few gift under their belt.

The book is a good mix of moderate to advanced knitting projects that would make good gifts for any occasion. Some of the patterns focus on holidays, such as Christmas Stockings to hang at the fireplace, while others are all-purpose items such as afghans or mittens. The photography puts you in a holiday mood. The directions are clear and well organized, starting with quick projects and progressing to more time-intense challenges.

The projects in the book are really very cute, it's really easy to follow if you know what you are doing. I would be happier if they gave illustrations of the special techniques they introduce, b/c many of them are advanced level, and their instructions are complicated to understand just by reading.
