Sean meets up with a girl from his past as a group of his friends stay at said girl, Lotti's, Bed & Breakfast. He was once the player but now he's interested in a happily-ever-after. She doesn't trust him as far as she can throw him. Too bad the storm forces them to be around each other. Time to make up for some of the past.
It's sweet and charming, just a quick evening read that will definitely brighten your holidays. The characters are all strong and the story is sweet. Not much angst and lots of sexy yum. It's just what the busy read needs to warm their cold night during the holiday season.
If you enjoy a good romantic holiday read then make sure and give this one a try.
"All you have to do is walk away."
"Tried that already and it was the biggest mistake of my life."
We have had just a little interaction with Sean O'Riley, Finn's brother. I loved how he was trying to make Finn's bachelor weekend go off perfectly. What he didn't count on was running into Lotti Hartford as he checked the group into the bed and breakfast. Lotti was his first and he'd never forgotten her.
Lotti loves her job, loves running her B&B, but love doesn't love her. Case in point, her first love, Sean O'Riley is standing right in front of her and she knows deep in her heart that she's never forgotten him either. But she knows he's out for a good time only and he's a perfect candidate for her to let loose.
But little did Lotti realize, Sean's grown up and ready for his own happily-ever-after. Now if only he can convince her to open her heart . . . again.
Holiday Wishes is a feel good, smart, sexy fun read. I loved both Sean and Lotti. Loved their witty banter and their re-connection. And their sexy in-between-the-sheets times too! This is a great addition to the Heartbreaker Bay series.
If you are familiar with Shalvis's Heartbreaker Bay novels then you will enjoy spending time with the characters we have already come to know and love and even if you're not, it's sweet piece of fluff just right for the holidays, and short enough you can squeeze it in between shopping, wrapping presents and making cookies! Four stars for Holiday Wishes.
Holiday Wishes is a short novella with only 8 chapters + Epilogue, so it did not take me long to read at all.
I remember reading the first book in the series and being introduced to Sean O’Riley. I definitely couldn’t wait to find out, which lady would tame Sean.
Sean happens to be the best man for his brother’s wedding and he has a bachelor weekend planned at a B&B with his friends and brother. Although, Sean is about to encounter Lottie Hartford, who he happened to have lost his virginity to in high school. He also kind of broke her heart.
Uh oh! In comes some drama between Sean and Lotti Hartford during the story because of their past. Lotti hasn’t forgiven him and Sean is determined to make it up to her. Lotti though won’t be mad at him for long in the story. 🙂
If there is one thing I enjoyed about this story is how Sean and Lotti get a second chance at love. I always love the second chance love stories.
Even though the story is a novella, it definitely as a great edition to the series because I got more with the previous characters. I also got to read Sean’s HEA and he definitely deserved one, even if Lotti didn’t make it easy for him.
I give this book 4 stars and highly recommend it Contemporary Romance readers out there. Just because it’s a Christmas themed book does not mean you have to wait until next Christmas to read it. I do recommend reading the previous books first before reading the novellas in the series. You’ll want to read the full novels of the happy couples in Holiday Wishes that are Sean’s family and friends.
I’m really enjoying this series (but I’ve said this before) and now I’m counting down to the next book in the series.
