After suffering through an embarrassing situation in college, Lana returns home to Maine where she opens a store to sell the custom jewelry she designs. She has no interest in venturing out of the small, quaint town she comes from. Insistent that she has everything she could possibly need, Lana settles in for a quiet, subdued life in her home town. This is what he likes, this is what she's comfortable with. No drama, everyone knows who she is and she can live her life without incident....until Matt Easton comes to town!
Matt Easton is an up and coming Hollywood star who is no stranger to trouble, fast women and living it up in the Hollywood scene. Now determined to reform his ways and stay out of trouble to rebuild his tarnished reputation, Matt is filming a new movie in Maine. He decides this is the perfect chance to stay out of the limelight and prove that he's not the bad boy he once was. Instead of staying with the rest of the cast, Matt is holding up in a cottage on the ocean to steer clear of any drama or temptations. Little did he know that he would find temptation in the woman who resides in the cottage next to him...Lana! She doesn't know who Matt is, he loves this, and the heat between the two of them will knock your socks off.
Matt enjoys the anonymity with Lana, she gets to know the real Midwestern guy he's always been deep down. He can be himself with her, he doesn't have to put on a show and knows that Lana enjoys him for being him; Matt the person, not Matt the Hollywood star. Lana is sweet, giving, yet a bit closed off. She didn't realize how much she misses spending time with someone she's insanely attracted to not only physically, but mentally as well. Her hesitance to push on through life because of events that happened to her in college were frustrating at times. I really wanted her to move on and not be stuck in the past. She seemed to be defining her life based on what happened with an ex-boyfriend. I was happy to see that as time went on, Matt was able to help her realize it was her past and she should embrace life and not be afraid of what's to come.
Overall, I enjoyed Matt and Lana's story. There were some great supporting characters I'm hoping Louise gives a voice to in the future! I look forward to what comes next.
Matt has to learn that there are more important things than becoming the next big franchise actor and Lana has to learn there is more important things than her broken hearted past.
This was fun, sexy, and unexpected.
