The Concealed Carrier Belly Band Holster for Comfortable Concealed Carry - Are you sick of holsters that are uncomfortable? - Does your current holster require you to wear a belt and limit your wardrobe? - Do you want to carry concealed and be comfortable? - Do you want to be able to carry different guns for different situations? Introducing The Concealed Carrier Belly Band Holster. If you look at other belly band holsters you will see that almost all of them are made from elastic. Unfortunately that is not the best material to make a holster from. It turns brittle after getting wet repeatedly, it has a tendency to pinch your skin and body hair resulting in pinches and pulls, and is uncomfortable against your skin. Neoprene on the other hand is soft against your skin which is why it is used in knee braces and back braces. Neoprene also is thicker and handles the weight of a gun very well. It provide more comfort and support resulting in a better product. Standard holsters require you to wear a belt which greatly reduces your choice of wardrobe. With the belly band holster you can wear sweat pants, gym shorts, loose fit jeans, under a dress, skirt, yoga pants, etc. Sizing: The belly band holster measures 5" wide x 42.25" long and will comfortably fit a 44" diameter. To ensure a comfortable fit simply use a tape measure and measure the area you intend to carry. If around your waist simple measure your waist and so on. Holster Sizing: The surgical grade elastic holster is flexible and will fit just about any pistol you own up to a full size 1911. Small "pocket pistols" may sit deep in the holster, so if you intend on carrying a small pocket size pistol be sure that it is secure and that you can get your hand on it to draw. I feel like the retention strap will get you killed if you don't learn to unbotton it fast or it gets stuck under your belt - so I never use it. And reholstering can be a pain, depending on what position you where it in.
For my mother, who's 5'9" and 170lbs, it conceals perfectly and never prints, regardless of what position she wears it in.
Great concept - depending on body type and what position you prefer to carry in! If you're small and like your gun on your back-side, this is perfect for you! If you like appendix carry, search for another holster.. If you have an average or larger sized body, this holster will probably work for you regardless of what position you carry in!
The problems with belly band holsters are retention, ease of draw, and ease of holstering. All can be eliminated by adding a kydex holster. The one I'm using here is a Vedder holster for a glock 43. I had to cut the stitching to make it fit.
Most belly bands use Velcro and sometimes the hook section will irritate my skin so I added a small patch of loop to block it. The rest of the material on this belly band feels very comfortable to the skin.
The magazine retention isn't very good on its own, so I added a Neomag to keep it from popping out when exercising.
As far as space to insert the holster, I dont think anything much bigger than a glock 43 holster or something similar in size will fit in the slot.
Without these mods I give this belly band three stars. It has poor mag retention and an extra step to draw the firearm, but makes up for that in comfort. You will gain everything a typical belly band holster lacks if you modify it.
Hope this helps you guys!
I did end up cutting the strap off because my Shield 9 was retained enough in the actual holstered section. My favorite feature is the holstered area is a Kevlar type material so there's virtually no way you could have a ND like you would a regular soft holster "accidentally" pulling the trigger while drawing. I would highly recommend still practicing and dry firing though, of course.
The extra pocket also fit 2 extra mags just fine as pictured. It has the same Kevlar type material around it, keeping them in place perfectly.
I highly recommend this holster for anyone looking to conceal in business casual wear, gym clothes, or summer type clothing.
I run occasionally.
I am 5'4", 150lbs.
3 things I don't like about it:
#1 THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU'LL READ ABOUT THIS BAND: I was able to pull the trigger through the elastic. My band was only about 3 weeks old and I had only used it 3 times a week to run in. It's not like it was old and worn out.
I prefer to carry loaded and no safety. This is absolutely unsafe in this belly band. I realize it's just elastic between me and the trigger, and I had to try pretty hard.... But it still happened. And I have small children who have their little hands in everything.
Also, my friend's comfort tac and lirisy bands don't seem to be loose enough to do this.
If I were to sew in some leather padding or bolt in a kydex trigger guard, maybe. But the other 2 issues I have are enough for me to abandon this band entirely.
#2 the Velcro at the end that holds the band on is the full width of the band, and when it's stretched tight, the band itself inevitably gets more narrow, while the Velcro does not. Therefore the ends of the Velcro scratch my skin raw. I have to fold it in the middle. Obv that makes it print terribly. I've seen other bands address this.
#3 the extra pouch is too small for my Samsung s8 (not plus) to fit without falling out (which I would like to tuck down there for running), but it's too big for my .380 mags. They slip right out.
I tried to find a way to contact the seller, because if I were a business owner and could find ways to improve my product and address severe safety issues, then I would want that.
