Cards are beautiful enlargements of illustrations from old holy cards, with blank interiors, on medium heavy stock; backs feature short bios of the saints pictured. The box is extremely sturdy and clearly made for reuse. A quality item... my one problem with this set: one of the cards is of the "Sacred Heart Of Mary". We seem to be entering an age of goddess worship, and Mary is being appropriated inappropriately. FYI, the heart of Mary is "Immaculate", never "Sacred"; that word is special to Jesus'. In other representations, Mary's heart is sometimes shown pierced by a sword, because of Simeon's prophecy at the Dedication of Jesus in the temple; or by seven of them, to represent the Seven Sorrows of Mary, as she suffered along with her Son in His passion. So for me, that one card with the "Sacred Heart of Mary" is unusable...which makes the set less attractive, especially as a gift.
These are absolutely beautiful note cards. Blank inside, so they're great for nearly any occasion. And no 2 are alike! As a bonus, the box is really heavy duty, and will serve as a stationery holder long after the included note cards are gone. The back of each card has Saint history and bio, too. A really nice set.
The Holy Card Note Cards are blank inside and offer a picture on the front similar to the small 2 1/2 X 4 holy cards we all loved as children and, in fact, still do. The pictures are copies of old holy card paintings and icons. I used them for Thank You notes after the funerals of both my parents. I enclosed a Holy Card memorial card from the funeral parlor with the birth and death dates of each parent. They are spiritual in a delightful way.
I bought these as a gift for a friend. She told me these cards are beautiful, they have different saints pictures on the front, and a bit of a bio on the back. She said they were pretty enough to frame.I am going to buy some for myself!
