Ned is a wonderful writer and this follow-up to "The Eagle Tree" is admirable. Surprising in its kindness and warmth of humanity. I can only imagine what it means to live with a person on the autism scale. Ned exposes the reader to that possible condition for one. Recommend reading "the Eagle Tree" first, though this story can stand alone.

Another visit to the beautiful northwest, but in a different vehicle. Loved the continuous format, the repetition of characters from the Eagle Tree, and the not-so believable aspect of March's mother being unaware of his indore laboratories! Although I will never be a student of the lichen, I find delight in this presentation of information. A quick read, explores two worlds I can only imagine!
