About the Author

Beci Orpin was born in Melbourne, Australia, during the early seventies to hippie parents. For the first three years of her life, she lived out of the back of an SUV traveling around Australia and never had to wear shoes. Later, she moved into an inner-city commune, where she developed a love for drawing and decided that was all she ever wanted to do. She has a degree in textile design and has been working freelance and exhibiting her artwork both locally and internationally ever since. Beci also creates homewares and stationery-based products under her own name and regularly designs clothes and products for Gorman and Urban Outfitters. This is Beci's second book.

    Love this book. I do a lot of art and craft with my kids, and this book has great ideas, that I wouldn't necessarily think of doing with the kids, but they love it too. Would definitely buy it again if I had the choice..

    This has some great projects but unfortunately I felt like some of the crafts were more advanced than what I was looking for. The pictures are beautiful but the crafts just didn't justify the purchase for me.

    Une belle mise en page et une illustration joyeuse d'une maison remplie de vie qui assume franchement une déco DIY très personnelle et pleine d'humour. Des tas d'idées dans l'air du temps: Mobile de bois flottés peints, pompons, cactus, illustrations brodées sur coussins, décor géométrique etc. Les techniques sont à la portée de tout le monde. Même si le livre est en anglais, chaque pas à pas est en visuel, c'est très clair. A chacune ensuite, le soin d'adopter ses propres couleurs pour son intérieur ! Beci Orpin, joue les cartes du multicolore et de l'éclectique avec de la récup', chez elle c'est poétique, drôle, décalé, comme un joyeux bazar :)!
    Bien entendu, l'ouvrage étant paru en 2013, les idées ont galopé sur la toile. Le livre reste encore aujourd'hui une source inspirante et les 25 projets peuvent être faits avec des enfants.
    En fin d'ouvrage, tout est prévu : les gabarits, les bonnes adresses, le petit cadeau: une jolie planche d'autocollants.
