25 years later this is still one of my all time favorite movies. I can watch this any time of the year and still enjoy it. Not many sequels can claim to be better than the first but this absolutely tops the first Home Alone. Always a hilarious no matter how many times I have seen it. Home Alone 2 is definitely a family classic. I love that this comes with deleted scenes as well. It's awesome to see how much was originally meant to be in the movie.
A good movie but I feel they phoned it in at the end. They were just like okay, we've had enough let's just put a bow on it and release. Fun worthless fact: Joe Pesci is a notoriously foul-mouthed actor. Casting him for a role in a children's movie was to say the least controversial. He wasn't allowed to swear for the movie or in general so he came to a compromise. Every time you see Mr. Pesci grumbling, mumbling or spouting gibberish, that's his way of swearing without saying it on camera.
We've all seen the first Home Alone and now comes a sequel in the awesome Home Alone Series. Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.
Home Alone 2: Lost In New York was a beloved film to watch. The entire cast was great and reunited. It was pleasure to see Macaulay Culkin rejoin in the Home Alone classic series. The first one was a masterpiece and the second one was fantastical.
Macaulay Culkin pulled this one off so-so exceptionally. He was so incredible and couldn't turn our back on this one.
Anyone who loves holiday movies and are a Home Alone series fan. This one is recommended. We also loved the Home Alone series soundtrack. This music throughout this film was inspirational
Thanks to Chris Columbus, the entire cast and crew, and of course Macaulay Culkin for bringing Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York to the big screen.
Our family watches this with ClearPlay to take out the few unwanted aspects, so with that, I can say this is definitely my children's most favorite Christmas based movie. There are so many things to love about it. I'm not a movie fan and would rather read a book. However, even I could watch this over and over (with ClearPlay). The same goes for the original Home Alone. Just add hot chocolate. :)
My kids loved the first movie and this one got pretty good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. It's the same plot as the first one but with novel twists and substitutions. Pigeon lady replaces the scary old man next door, Uncle's house replaces Kevin's own home, using a gangster movie sound track to trick others that there is a gunfight etc. The "finale" with Kevin's contrivances to pummel the thieves is still novel but it's more over the top such that most ordinary humans would probably have died from their injuries. Overall, it was a good choice for an enjoyable family movie night.
My personal favorite in the Home Alone movie series, as well as one I enjoy watching every holiday season. Director Chris Columbus perfectly captures a classic, romanticized Manhattan at Christmas while following the hilarious adventures of the main character, Kevin McCallister. Composer and conductor John Williams' musical score completes the experience of submersing the viewer in a magical New York holiday fantasy. Highly recommended!
This is a decent bare bones DVD of this Christmas classic. There are no special features which is fine with me. The case is vulnerable because it's not entirely plastic. The area around the disc's release buttons has arrow shaped holes on the front and back. The cover is looks like the stock photo but it is paper and since there are holes in the front and back of the case, any sharp object can puncture through it. Keep that in mind. The movie is just as funny and enjoyable as the original.
Fun movie that nicely follows the pattern of the original Home Alone--which seems impossible but they did it!
Some of the great movie comedies are famous for their slapstick moments--Abbot and Costello, for example, or Laurel and Hardy. Home Alone, and Home Alone 2, take that a step farther. My family watches with anticipation, and groans happily when the shtick is delivered.
The huge NYC toy store in Home Alone 2 repeats a function from the original movie but does it in a wonderful, magical way. Love it.

A sequel to Home Alone, seeing our poor kid missing again, this time in New York and if that is not enough, the bad guys he defeated from the first film are back. If you have not seen Home Alone, see it first before this one to follow the whole story. Very hilerious and fantastic, I just could not stop laughing out loud when seeing this film. I would suggest getting Home Alone 1 and 2 only, as they are the most funniest. The others I am sorry to say are not very funny in my opinion and so not worth getting on DVD. Macauley Culkins is great in this one together with the actors who played the villains in this one. The combination of the trio will always make me laugh from start to finish.
5.0 out of 5 starsThe package arrived intact and well insulated.

Part 2 of the Christmas holiday movie specials. It has now become traditional in my home to watch HA1 and HA2 on Christmas week and have the gang over. For me Daniel Stern steals the show on both movies,
5.0 out of 5 starsAbsolute classic and even better than the first!

This is one of those rare occasions where the sequel is just as good as the original if not better. The story takes place in New York this time but I won’t give anymore than that away in case you have been living under a stone and haven’t seen it yet! A must for any DVD collection and great for watching together as a family at Christmas!
