You Again – JoAnn Ross
This was a cute coming home story that also had the bonus of a lost Orca being reunited with his family with the help of the hero who is a marine biologist.

Meghann Quinn spent her high school years in foster care in Shelter Bay. It was during this time she met a shy nerd who excelled in science but wasn’t so good at grammar. Meghann ended up tutoring him and the two shared their first kiss together but after high school life took them in different directions.

Meghann is now a bestselling author that lives in New York. When she gets a letter from Adam asking if she could donate some of her books for charity she decides instead of sending the books by mail why not deliver them in person as she doesn’t have plans for the Christmas holiday and she’s still kinda crushing on Adam and wants to see if the spark was still there. She doesn’t know that Adam never forgot her either and hopes that her visit can turn into more. Running alongside this Adam is looking for a whale that had gotten separated from his family and Meghann decides she wants to help in his quest. This in turn has the whole town of Shelter Bay getting involved which just blends in perfectly with the holiday season.

All I Want For Christmas Is You – Jessica Scott
Even though these books are fiction you can certainly tell that the authors own life experiences influence each book. This story delves into what is like when a woman that has been deployed and lost a good friend to the war returns home a different person than what she was when she left and her struggles with how to “come home” which is the basis for all the books in this series. Both the main characters are in the Army and have been in a long term relationship that includes a child.

You Again: First, I love Joann Ross and her Shelter Bay stories, which is why I bought this book. This is a sweet Christmas Story that could easily be made into a Hallmark Channel Christmas Special. I loved it even though there wasn't much depth to the story. I wasn't expecting much depth since it is a novella... It was exactly what I wanted, a feel good Christmas Story. After I read it, I had the urge to bake Christmas cookies and listen to Jingle Bells! If you want a great Shelter Bay novel with depth, start off with The Homecoming. It's one of my favorites, I've read it twice.

All I want for Christmas is You: I have never read anything from Jessica Scott before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was an emotional experience and I must say I am glad it was a short story because I literally could not put the book down, I took it to my kids swim practice and read the entire story! (Long swim practices and I read fast). I cried through the entire practice.. people stared.. I told them the chlorine irritates my eyes. It was excellent and I liked that the story was about a woman struggling from the war, all the other stories I have read, is about the men struggling. I will definitely be reading Jessica Scott in the future... but not at swim meets.. unless the chlorine is really strong and I have a box of tissues. BTW... it had a great ending.. and a nice hot steamy sex scene.. which I always enjoy.. I consider it educational... and my husband is all for me reading educational books!

I wish I had read "All I want for Christmas is You" first because it is one of those books that makes you think about the characters emotionally afterwards and this story could easily be someones real life story.

This review is for All I Want for Christmas is You, one of the two novellas in this book. Based on this story alone this book is one you shouldn't miss if you love military themed romance.

I don’t know how she keeps doing it – each and every one of the books in Jessica Scott’s Coming Home series has taken my breath away. I read a lot of books – all kinds of romance – and her books are among the best of any I’ve ever read. I don’t know how she managed to pack so much feeling and emotion into a rather short story. All I can say is All I Want for Christmas Is You is a wonderful, heart-wrenching story.

This story read to me like it must personal, but then again I’ve thought that about every one of her books in this series. If she hasn’t lived her stories then I’ve no doubt that she knows people who have lived them in one way or another. Her books are REAL. Sometimes I want to read a book to escape and get lost in the fantasy but sometimes I want to read a story that feels so real it makes you ache. This book does that in spades.

If you’ve read the other Coming Home books you MUST read this one. If you haven’t read the other books – what are you waiting for??!! Each book in the series stands alone but you might enjoy them more if you read them in this order:

.5: I’ll Be Home For Christmas
1: Because Of You
1.5: Anything For You
2: Back To You
3: Until There Was You
4: All For You
5: It's Always Been You
5.5: All I Want for Christmas Is You

Don’t be intimidated by the fact that there are so many stories published before this one. All I Want for Christmas Is You doesn’t really connect directly to the other stories (the hero was a secondary character in Back to You). This would be a great one to start with if you haven’t read any of Jessica Scott’s other books yet.

I was privileged to receive an ARC of All I Want for Christmas is You in exchange for an honest review.
