Lori Dunlap, the author, uses research and surveys to gather the information needed, and then shares her findings with us in her book. Without a doubt, “From Home Education to Higher Education” covers every aspect of what educational experiences your homeschooled child should have in high school and how to portray those unique learning experiences on college and university applications in order to be accepted. Lori also provides universities and colleges information and advice on how to recruit and assess homeschooled high schoolers, a unique student population who have consistently proven to be successful, involved and engaged higher education students. Well-done, thorough and highly informative!
If you are a higher education professional, this is a must-read. If you are a home schooled student and want helpful insights on preparing for college, this is a powerful tool to inform and narrow your college search. I highly recommend it!
Full disclosure: I know Lori personally and my homeschooling story appears in the book.
