Bought this hat for packability & maximum sun protection. I wear extra wide brim hats of various styles when I am outdoors every day. I like this one bc it does not extend beyond my body in the back, but still protects my neck and shoulders from direct sun. This is important at spectator events like stadium sports. Ventilation in the crown is a nice feature. Sturdy brim lays flat in a suitcase. Also love the color! Too many hats like this are boring neutral colors. News Flash! Beige is not flattering to anybody's complexion. 3 cheers for fabulous color AND function!

I got this hat for hiking and was a little skeptical on how the quality would be since it was so cheap. It is a great hat though! It is super lightweight and packs up well for travel or a backpack. The brim is wide and gives good frontal coverage from the sun. Definitely would buy again.

I bought my hubby one of these to protect his neck whilst gardening. I tried it out myself as I like to plein air paint and sun protection is very important. I bought myself one as I liked the wide front brim which is sturdy enough to withstand a stiff breeze, especially with the chin strap and forehead strap, although don't pull the latter too tight or you might give yourself a headache like I did one day!

This hat is really nice, especially for the price. We have no complaints about it and it works great in the hot summer sun. It's definitely more lightweight than other hats we've tried, so it feels comfy and doesn't get on your nerves. The look is about what you would expect from a sunhat with a neck flap. Definitely works for any outdoor activity, not just fishing.
