Built a 2x4 work bench pretty quickly with it.
Would purchase again and recommend.
I'm glad it's not lime green or anything over bright like that [we actually keep it in our 'living room' because we live in a one bedroom place for now].
It was also inexpensive when I bought it, so that's a big bonus for a small DIYer like myself.
It does have a brake on it so the blades stops in about 1.5 seconds after use, comes installed with a nice blade already on it, mine was even square right out of the box!
It uses a 2 prong plug which is convenient.
It does have a Laser cutting sight on it that takes separate batteries (I believe they are AAA batteries) though I personally do not rely on the Laser guide it is a nice bonus.
It is pretty quiet except for the usual noise of the blade going through the wood,
Has a sawdust collection bag on the back but in my use it doesn't work all that great, I still have a lot of dust to clean up after using it.
The mitre stops lock up very nicely, it also has a locking mechanism to hold the saw in the down position (Maybe a lot of cutoff saws do Beats me).
It also will tilt to make bevel cuts which is a huge plus!
Overall I am extremely pleased with this unit, no regrets, I expect to get many years of use out of it.
Please let me know if you found my review "Helpful" or if you have any questions.
I bought this initially for a flooring project. It worked flawlessly. The laser needs a little adjustment, but it's rather easy to get it on the cutting line and it has held true through 700 sqft of flooring, 200 more to go.
The saw has plenty of power. I'm cutting very dense strand woven bamboo (janka of 4000), and I can make a cut in less than 5 seconds without worrying about the cut quality.
My biggest issue with this unit is that the dust bag does nothing... I've swept about half a cubic foot of sawdust from the floor, and the bag is almost completely empty.
A second but more minor issue is the board clamp. I'm doing 1/2" x 5-1/8" tongue and groove flooring and the clamp is not wide enough for the boards. I don't think this style clamp would hold tongue and groove very well anyways, but it does mean that the max size board that can be clamped horizontally is less than 5-1/8".
Overall, this purchase was very worth it! It literally takes me longer to mark the board and walk to the saw than it does to turn on the laser, line up the cut and slice through the board.
